*TRADES (3):
1. NE & Hoody Gets His QB
Patriots Received:
Pick 12 ‐ (QB) Mac Jones

Niners Received:
Pick 15
Pick 46
Pick 114

2. Titans Cap Strapped
Titans Received:
Pick 43 - (TE) Pat Freiermuth
- Jonu Smith is a FA and will get paid, Titans have no TEs signed for the upcoming season, Titans is cap strapped and won't be able to resign J.Smith. They go EDGE in the 1st and trade up for Pat Freiermuth in the 2nd. Freiermuth is the best blocking TE in this draft by a mile who could use his blocking skills to open things up for D.Henry.

Niners Received:
Pick 53
Pick 85

3. Saleh's Parting Gift
Jets Received:
Pick 182 (5th)
2022- conditional 3rd round

Niners Received:
Sam Darnold (replacing Nick Mullens)
- Niners will now have 2 high first round picks in Darnold and Rosen to light a fire under Jimmy's ass and push him for the starting job while they're both cheap on rookie contracts. Give Jimmy G some real competition, not a overdrafted 3rd rounder and an UDFA type competition. IF one of them beats Jimmy for the starting job after TC, the Niners have the option to release or trade Jimmy to replenish some of what they traded away to acquire Darnold, even a future 4th or a 5th would still be a win IMO, the Niners drafted well in the later rounds in the past seasons. If not, at least for the next season the backup position is miles better than what they had last season in case Jimmy goes down again. They have exactly one year to figure out the QB situation before Darnold and Rosen are done with their rookie contracts and might cost more.

Overall Summary:
1. Keep the core of the team, or at least most.

2. Add legit competition in the QB room. see Trade section...

3. Go young with depth behind a solid veteran starter, and a scheme experienced vet behind a rookie starter.

4. Replace departing veterans, FAs with high quality talents in FA and early rounds depending on value.
For example:
- Besides T.Williams who is clearly the top priority to resign. The next most valued FA imo is R.Sherman, he's not coming back so they should spend a high value draft pick to replace him alas P.Surtain/J.Horn. Would like to sign Xavier Rhodes or DJ Hayden but the limited cap won't allow it.
- After Sherman the next high valued is D.Ford. Not too impressed with the EDGE class this year so I addressed that need in FA with H.Reddick as my top FA signing if Arizona doesn't tag him. Arizona is also cap strapped so they might pass on using their franchise tag this year. He should get anywhere between 8M-11M annually which should be less than most big named FAs out there in the open market.
- W.Richburgh is next, this one is a no brainer. A.Mack wants to play for KS and could come cheap. Drafted Q.Meinerz to play RG next to Mack and learn from him for at least 2 seasons. If Meinerz stays at RG, next year's Center draft class is looking strong with Tyler Linderbaum and Alec Lindstrom heading back to school.
- Juice is up next, if he asks for the same amount of money or more then they'll have to let him walk. He's very good but not worth the price for very limited usage. T.Tremble looks very promising and super talented for dirt cheap on a rookie contract.
- J.Tartt is hot and cold. He's really good when hot but also pretty bad when cold. The injuries is also a concern. J.Holland was the #1 rated Safety last year but decided to go back to school. A year later, the Pandemic and Pac-12 scheduling hindered his draft stock which allowed T.Moehrig from TCU to claim that top spot. But Holland is still one of the top Safeties in the country period. His versatility is also a big plus, he can play outside CB and in the slot at a very high level.
- Elijah Moore and Jaelon Darden is an instant upgrade over K.Bourne and T.Taylor in every aspect (route running, separation, speed, hands, etc..) even as rookies. If you don't agree then I don't know what to tell you.
- M.McGlinchey has to bulk up and needs to be challenged like Jimmy G. Brady Christensen is a very good OT and should be able to provide solid competition. He could replace MM next year if the Niners decides to move on from him and decline his 5th year option.
- K.Williams has New York Jets written all over him. I think he follows Saleh to NY and plays close to his hometown. Mike Milton was silently one of the best slot CBs for the past 2 seasons. Slot CB still has low market value in the NFL so he shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to sign. Steelers are also trying to figure out their cap situation so M.Hilton is a walk candidate.
- Normally I hesitate to draft a RB bc the UDFA crop is working out pretty well. But I couldn't resist putting C.Hubbard's talent in KS's offense, this kid is special with world class speed, not sold on Hasty yet and Chubbard is a clear upgrade over the always injured ungrateful POS McKinnon.
Good work. I don't see spending FA money on Hyder and Riddick. Both guys will be looking for starter money. Personally I'm just high on Darnold. I don't see him or Rosen pushing Jimmy. Definitely a better back up than Mullens and Bethard.
That's a ton of work. Like most of the mock and players you selected. Only issues are gotta get an EDGE before #196 (even with Reddick.) Not crazy about CB in R1, but either of those guys at 15 is OK. Darden long gone by #173.

Also, can't see Tremble playing FB in this offense, he's too good at TE. Be wasting his talents. Better off putting Woerner at FB IMO. 49ers, Colts, Pack, Cards, Broncos, Saints, Jets, Wash, ,Pats, Chargers, Titans, and Bills all have or will meet withTremble. He's gonna rise up draft boards, R3 probably. I do like him quite a bit also.

First off I love and appreciate the time and effort you put in to this.

I like a lot of the players you selected and you have a number of draft crushes of mine in Garret Wallow, Jaelon Darden and Elijah Moore.

My criticisms would be, I see no way your trade for Darnold happening. Jets will look for a lot more than that. Saleh ain't the GM there and won't say, hey give the 49ers a discount. Also I don't see the Titans giving up a 3rd round pick to move up 10 spots in the middle of the 2nd round. They would want the 4th round pick 114 in return for sure.

I don't think the cap would work out especially with Reddick going to get paid big by some team. I could easily see the a team like the Jets or Jags spending big money to bring in Reddick.

Nice work overall dude and go Niners!

Same strategy and reasoning just different team trading up to pick #12 for Mac Jones.
