Assumptions:
- We resign T. Williams, Verrett, Willis, D. Johnson, and key RFA and ERFAs. T. Williams deal really eats cap room in '22, modest '21 hit
- Juice, Hyder, K. Williams, Solly, Jones, and other FAs get paid on the open market - mainly by the Jets and Browns.
- We restructure Dee Ford, providing him his full injury guarantee over 2 seasons, but removing all other money - saves $10M.
- We cut Richburg, Nzeocha, Brendel, and Benjamin - saves another $10M.
- We extend Tomlinson and Warner - saves another $3M.
Free Agent Additions:
Everson Griffen - EDGE - Lions | Short-term cheaper vet that can rotate at either DE spot with some flex inside.
Michael Davis - CB - Chargers | Starting caliber corner that's tall and physical. Fits our scheme really well.
Alex Mack - C - Falcons | Aging center, but holds down the role for 1 year as we develop his replacement.
Shelby Harris - DT/DE - Broncos | He's what we wanted K Street to be. Love him as a 3rd down interior rusher and base DE.
Duke Johnson - RB - Texans | Cut by the Texans, Johnson offers upside as a runner and receiver. Replaces McKinnon's role.
NFL Draft:
JAX: Lawrence - QB | Duh.
NYJ: Wilson - QB | Darnold is traded to the WFT - Saleh, Mayhew connection. Wilson becomes the new QB in NY.
CAR: Fields - QB | TRADE - CAR and MIA swap picks. CAR is hunting for a mobile QB with a cannon arm. Fields is the perfect fit for Rhule.
ATL: Sewell - T | So many needs and no ideal trade back, they go BPA. This is now an underrated offensive line.
CIN: Chase - WR | Again, no ideal trade back so they got with BPA here which is Chase. Replaces A.J. Green. They invest OL in 2nd round.
DEN: Lance - QB | TRADE - DEN and PHI swap picks. New DEN GM gets his QB of the future. Lock is traded to the Eagles in this deal.
DET: Parsons - LB | Assuming Parsons passes character check, DET lands their free range MIKE in their new NO-style defense.
MIA: Slater - T/G | Bolster's the offensive line while getting a ton more picks from the CAR trade.
PHI: D. Smith - WR | Even after their trade back, they still got their WR to replace Jackson.
DAL: Surtain - CB | BPA + Need = perfect pick for the Boys.
NYG: Farley - CB | Badly need someone to line up opposite of Bradberry. Great scheme fit.
49ers trade #12 to the Chargers for #13 and 4th round pick - LAC selects Darrisaw
49ers trade #13 to the Bears for #20 and 2nd round pick - CHI selects Mac Jones - QB, leapfrogging the Pats.
MIN: Paye - EDGE | Bigger DE to start opposite of Hunter.
NE: Pitts - TE | His free fall stops as NE finally gets a true successor to Gronk. NE signed Dalton and Brissett in Free Agency.
ARI: Horn - CB | Replaces Peterson. Good scheme fit in ARI.
LV: Rousseau - EDGE | Ferrell is panning out to be the next Solly. Rousseau adds a pass rush force opposite of Crosby.
MIA: Owusu-Koramoah - LB | Another home run pick for MIA. Addresses a big need in their LB unit.
WFT: Cosmi - T | They got Darnold, now they need to protect him.
49ers Draft:
R1: Alijah Vera-Tucker - T/G - USC (via CHI) | Upside player ideal in ZBS. Starts at RG, but could potentially succeed Williams at LT.
R2: Eric Stokes - CB - Georgia | Ideal zone corner for our scheme. A bit thin wired - so NFL conditioning will be important.
R2: Patrick Jones - EDGE - Pitt (via CHI) | Raw, but immense upside. Eventual successor to Griffen, but learns under him and Bosa.
R3: Kellen Mond - QB - Texas A&M (comp) | Athletic with a good arm and pocket presence. Competes with Rosen for the backup gig.
R4: Tre McKitty - TE - Georgia | TE #2 that offers some upside as a slot receiver. Love the Aiyuk-Samuel-McKitty-Kittle lineup on offense.
R4: Tariq Thompson - S/NB - SDSU (via LAC) | Slot corner or safety prospect, Thompson will learn a bunch of spots while seeing ST duties.
R5: Josh Imatorbhebhe - WR - Illinois | Raw receiver with extremely high upside. He'd be a great outside threat or physical slot beast.
R5: Tyree Gillespie - S - Mizz (via NO) | Pure safety prospect with ST upside. We've now rebuilt our secondary.
R5: Derrick Barnes - SAM/EDGE (comp) | Doesn't have a clear projection in the NFL. I see him as a 4-3 SAM with some EDGE upside.
R6: Jim Morrissey - C - Pitt | ZBS fit at center. Needs to get stronger, but provides backup duty for Alex Mack.
R7: K.J. Britt - LB - Auburn (via NYJ) | TC competition and depth at LB.
R7: Jordon Scott - NT - Oregon | 0T to compete with Daniels for the spot on our roster.

Love the rebuilding of the O-line, stacking the D-line with depth, and rebuilding the secondary as well. The only thing I am not a fan of is the WRs. Its worse than 2020. One injury to Deebo, Ajuik, or Kittle and Jimmy is low on targets. I dont know much about Imatorbhebhe or MckItty, but one of them would have to be a 500 - 700 yard guy for this plan to work out. The chances of a 4th - 5th round rookie doing that is possible but not likely.
I am a big Hurd fan and I see that you didnt include him but I am not banking on him being healthy in 2021 and if he is, it should be just a added benefit.
I would suggest signing adding a veteran like TY, Tyrell Williams, or Keelan Cole. Someone who wont break the bank and wont need multiple years on his contract.

Yea they need a another vet wr on the cheap. Just can't count on Hurd or Jennings to provide anything
Overall I like what Geek did with this mock. Only issue is I'd give that Griffen money to Hyder and keep him

Thanks for the feedback. There should be plenty of vet WRs on the market post-draft that we can pick up for a discount. A.J. Green is another one to add to the list. Aiyuk, Samuel, Green w. a rookie and James rounds out a nice unit. And both Kittle and McKitty can flex to the slot on certain formations.
For Griffen, I think he'll end up being much cheaper than Hyder due to age.

Nice work overall. I think your first 20 picks are very reasonable. You had me in the 49ers draft until Kellen Mond. Free agents are good, but like other poster said if money is similar would rather roll with Hyder over Griffen. Rather role the dice on drafting a RB than pay Duke Williams. Kylin Hill, Elijah Mitchell and Chubba Hubbard should be available in the 4-5 round range.

Been checking out Josh Imatorbhebhe lately, he looks like a solid player.

I like this offseason a lot. The only thing I have qualms with is not resigning Juice. It seems to me that if you are drafting Jones, Barnes, and Scott along the defensive line, then you don't need to spend money on defensive lineman Griffen and Harris in free agency, and you could use that money to resign Juice.

Not bad, the QB depth chart is a bit worrisome to me though.

Defense and o-line look great here.
I myself would take a vet receiver over signing a guy like Duke Johnson just to have that experience there. Also I'm not really a fan of Kellen Mond at QB. I see him as a backup QB and think we could do better there. I'm not sure if Mond is an upgrade over how Beathard played last season.
Love the work, time and effort put in to this and would be pretty stoked overall if this happened.

Appreciate the kind words. Understand the receiver concern. We'd need to get a vet that can play on ST as well as a gunner or in coverage. That's a bit tricky to get good talent across both spectrums.
I could see us double dipping at WR in lieu of the Mond pick. And I could see us trading a conditional 2022 draft pick for Darnold.
