Highly instinctual prospect. Urgent play-style + game speed. Can navigate & find the ball in space. Strong tackler. Scheme fit will be key in the NFL — has true versatility as an underneath/top-down defender. @NFLMatchup pic.twitter.com/z8OveaK4eb

4.120 D'ante Smith - OT - East Carolina
If the #Bears make a trade for Russell Wilson and give up a lot of draft capital, ECU OT D'Ante Smith would make a lot of sense in Round 3.

Athletic tackle with super long arms and nice core strength at the point of attack. He's got a real high ceiling. pic.twitter.com/PKEmOac7LD
6.196 - DeAngelo Malone - DE - Western Kentucky
Western Kentucky's SR Edge rusher DeAngelo Malone had a fantastic 2019 season racking up 11 sacks and 20.5 TFLs. Malone is a speed rusher with an excellent get off and quick hands. He beat new Jets OL Cam Clark for a couple of sacks in the Charlotte game. Exciting player. pic.twitter.com/UqhiyBaqte

Notes:
I will go in-depth more about my thought process and my own critiques of my mock draft but I just needed to get this first one out before FA. I think this is my favorite scenario I can come up with trading down several times getting the value I want. My first mock always involves lots of trades and then I try to get more realistic as we approach the draft. I believe we will draft safety and runningback higher than most would normally assume. There are only a couple of edge rushers in this class that I like at the range in which I think they will get drafted. On the other hand, there are many safties and corners I would be happy with selecting in each round.
Let me know what you think.
