MBA Post Free Agency Mock

Here is an updated look on my draft as of 3-22-21. This is no trade mock with the assumption that all top 4 QB's are gone and Niners do not give up the farm to get one. Double up at receiver and triple up at CB to replace missing depth. Niners get the Slot Receiver and KR this team has needed for the last 5 years in Newsome plus the 2nd TE matchup nightmare in Pitts. Niners draft two big boundary corners and one slot CB to replace the departed K'waun. I would prefer Davis Mills but Mond was the best available QB prospect at this time. Rumph is a versatile and quick rusher to supplement Bosa and Sosa. Meyers will be the swing C/OG to supplement Mack on the interior OL. Last, a bigger RB to add some size to our RB corps. Your thoughts..........................

12. Kyle Pitts TE Florida

44. Asante Samuel Jr. CB Florida St.

97. Kellen Mond QB Texas A&M

117. Kelvin Joseph CB Kentucky

156. Chris Rumph II Edge Duke

173. Dazz Newsome WR/KR North Carolina

182. Josh Meyers C/OG Ohio St.

196. Keith Taylor CB Washington

231. Brian Robinson RB Alabama
You certainly filled the boxes for our needs. Good selections on CBS and a good TE and a C/G and a proven edge. I liked it.
A+
Love the Kelvin Joseph pick but I'm sure he goes earlier and will rise up boards.

Really like it. Seems like a couple rounds too late for Taylor but I'd be thrilled

Each mock draft simulator has their own big board and this valuation for Joseph came off of PFF. You're likely correct, but just wanted to add two long, boundary corners to replace the departed Sherman and Spoon. These mocks are crapshoots anyway.

Mond is not gonna be available in the third round. I don't see how we would be analyst can say all they want Jordan love was picked in the first round he's better than Jordan love. I think he's late first mid to early second. Not a huge fan of tied end in the first. If Slater is there can you take him no matter what. Right tackle at this point is probably our biggest hole. I love your second pick

No QB in 1st round makes me not pleased with this. And I love Pitts.

But I dont like Mond much.

Are you passing on Mac Jones or is he gone too? Need a 1st round QB for when Jimmy gets hurt. Mond ain't winning us a damn thing if Jimmy goes down.

Fields/Wilson/Lance/Jones at #12. All our moves have set us up to go QB in the 1st. Wont be drafting high for a while and one of these QBs are within reach now so we have to pounce assuming the one Kyle likes is available.
I love your mock.

In this particular scenario, all of the top 4 QB's were gone by pick 12, but Jones was still there. Is he worth the pick? If you go by the PFF rankings, Jones is at 33 and Mond is at 132 in their rankings. I think Mond would be a bargain in the third round. Pitts was a top 5 prospect who was available at 12 and he would be a younger more athletic version of Jordan Reid for Kyle to scheme with. I understand what you are saying about Slater, but McGlinchey is still there for now. If someone like the Raiders or Colts come calling with a trade offer for McGlinchey, this whole scenario would change.
I can rock with this mock!

In this scenario, Jones was available but PFF lists him as a 2nd round value (rank 33). I still don't know where Jones will land, but Pitts was the BPA at the pick so I went with it. I reran the simulation again this morning and Lance fell to 12. I would take him in a heartbeat if that came to pass.

I agree with you that the Niners success in free agency sets them up to make a major splash at QB in this draft. Whether or not Lynch will do that is still up in the air.
Replace that third rounder with anyone else and I'm all in.

I would hope that Davis Mills would be there at that point. That or one of the top 4 QB's at 12 would be my preference.

Let me rephrase: replace that 3rd rounder with any other position.
Kendrick Green, Jaylen Twyman, etc
