I am firmly opposed to trading Trey Lance who I'm convinced is the most talented QB on the roster, but reading tea leaves, it's clear the Niners are open to offers.

The combination of a win-now roster with their confidence in Purdy and (apparently) Darnold, tells me the Niners would trade him if the right offer came around. As I look across the NFL, I think there are 3-4 spots worth watching...

1. Houston: The Texans have made is known they're not enamored with any of the QBs this year and will pick best player available at 2 and 12. Would the Texans be tempted to give up the 33rd overall pick and a later round pick for a QB who would very likely be a top 10 pick had he stayed at NDSU? I think it's possible, maybe even probable.
2. Atlanta. The Falcons were supposedly very high on Lance in 2021 and would've taken him if he didn't go to the Niners. It's hard to believe they're comfortable going into the season with Ridder and Heinicke as their only options. Again, a 2nd (44th overall) and one of their 4th rounders could be enough...
3. Others: Indy, Tennessee, Tampa Bay and maybe the Vikings could be others floating out there...
