Early 2024 Mock First Three Picks

Based on what we saw against the Ravens here is where I would focus the first picks

  1. Taliese Fuaga, OT - He is popular at the end of round one and if he gets to the 49ers first pick they should grab him. He looks like he can be an upgrade over McKivitz in run blocking and the 49ers need to be able to run to the right side. He is probably not an LT replacement so hopefully Trent Williams stays a few more seasons.
  2. Ruke Orhorhoro, DT - Depth up the middle is a problem. Both Givens and Kinlaw are ok as rotational players but both are free agents. Newly signed Joseph-Day is probably on a 2023 contract only so he is also a free agent. Kalia Davis and Orhorhoro would be better candidates for future starting jobs post-Armstead/Hargraves.
  3. Cam Hart, CB - Projects as a slot corner, so this provides more flexibility for how Lenoir/Thomas are used.

Other concerns:
WR - Will Jauan Jennings be a difficult resign even though he is restricted? I can see him wanting more than the 49ers are willing to give. Ray-Ray is a free agent and Ronnie Bell is a question mark as the punt returner. Danny Gray is an unknown at this point.
DE - Free agents Young and Farrell leave the unit thin unless Drake Jackson and Robert Beal can show they can play at a high level.

Jennings is a RFA, he'll be back
return specialist is definitely an underrated need right now

if Chase Young walks, which is very likely because he'll get overpaid - then DE opposite of Bosa might be our second biggest need after OT

I like the picks, but Fuaga might be out of reach and there's other DTs I like better than Ruke - but wouldn't complain at all
I'd rather a boundary CB and keep Lenoir in the slot, that is what I feel like what would be best, so basically, a vet CB, Thomas and Rookie fight for the starters role next year while Luter and Womack back up slot
Modifying the draft after the first two days of free agency.

31 - Jordan Morgan, OT - he has a pretty good shot at being available at #31 and 49ers should snap him up. My original pick of Fuaga is expected to go much earlier.
63 - T'Vondre Sweat, DT - this is a high risk/high reward guy who played at 365 lbs. Solves the run defense if he can stay in shape.
94 - Zak Zinter, OG - Steady, experienced replacement at RG.
High risk is now an issue:

Can we please just remove OT next to Morgan and call him a guard at least? Grabbing a two down DT is not my jam in the second
