Nasty blocker, plays with a fiery attitude and great leverage. Great out in space and has strong awareness to pick-up stunts and anchors well in the pass game. Looks like an excellent fit for our scheme and IMO could start right away at RG while also being groomed as C of the future.
2. Kingsley Suamataia-OT-BYU, 6-5 325 5.09
We always get blown away by upside, and in this case it would be justified. Kingsley looks like a dominant run blocker who is still growing into his own as a pass protector. He's only a redshirt sophomore, so I think learning from a guy like Trent Williams would be the perfect scenario. We need a franchise LT of the future, and I think he has that type of potential.
3. Ricky Pearsall-WR-Florida, 6-0 193 4.47
Ricky reminds me a bit of Puka Nacua, who I badly wanted us to pick last year.. Though I don't know if he's quite as fast. Either way, he is a great scheme fit and could replace Ray Ray McCloud in the return game as well. If Malachi Corley isn't available here, Pearsall could be one we target.
3. Austin Booker-DE-Kansas, 6-5 245 4.72
While he could add a few pounds, when you put on the tape, it's hard to ignore that he's very effective at rushing the passer, and surprisingly solid against the run still too.
4. Mike Sainristil-CB-Michigan, 5-9 182 4.39
Michigan lead the nation in pass defense, and it's not all about pass rush (they ranked near 50th in the nation there). That tells me the secondary is doing a fine job and Mike is a big part of that. I imagine Peters would vouch for Mike to be a pick here as we desperately need help filling the gaping hole at nickel. Sainristil has 3 interceptions (2 returned for touchdowns), 3 TFL, and 1 sack. He may be little, but the kid plays big, and makes big plays (how's that for some wordplay?)
4. Darius Muasau-LB-UCLA, 6-1 230 4.68
Good tape against Utah. Kid is a playmaker. He is fundamentally sound in coverage, a good tackler, and seems to work off blocks fairly well. Doesn't seem as fleet footed as some of the day one or day two guys, but he's just an instinctive football player with adequate athleticism and I think could outplay his draft slot. Most projections have him between the 4th-6th.
5. Deantre Prince-CB-Missippi, 6-0 183 4.44
IMO really underrated. I see starter type qualities in the guy. Should be available here, according to most sources.
5. Ainias Smith-WR-Texas A&M, 5-9 200 4.37
Kind of an RB/WR hybrid out there, but has all the tools needed to excel in our system. Wouldn't hurt to add another weapon who could potentially play a Deebo role.
6. Gabe Hall-DE/DT-Baylor, 6-6 290 4.96
Nearly 35" arms, tall, and disruptive penetrator who had a nice Senior Bowl. Best pass-rusher on the Baylor defense. Maybe wishful thinking here, but he might get to this area.
7. Malik Mustapha-S-Wake Forest, 5-10 210 4.50
Extremely physical, fast, good play recognition, and should have no problem being able to rotate between both safety spots. Would immediately help STs.
7. Khristian Boyd-DT-Northern Iowa, 6-2 320 5.08
Another guy who had a good Senior Bowl. Very short arms though, and probably still will fall late. Braden Fiske is another guy in the later rounds I like also.
