"Kyle and John will select..."
1. Tyler Guyton-OT-Oklahoma, 6-8 322 5.19
I don't love the player, but we will probably obsess over the measurables and upside. He is certainly seen as one of the most talented, but just so unpolished. Hopefully Cokehead Chris could turn him into something.
2. Christian Haynes-OG-Connecticut, 6-3 317 5.03
Just an animal out there. We will probably love him, and fans should love him too. Mauler.
3. Maason Smith-DT-LSU, 6-5 306 5.06
Great length (35" arms), great power inside. A lot to work with IMO. Great tape against Wisconsin.
4. Max Melton-CB-Rutgers, 5-11 187 4.39
Apparently we're obsessed. Inside/out versatile corner to compete at wherever we see fit.
4. Nelson Ceaser-DE-Houston, 6-3 254 4.73
Much more powerful for his size than you'd expect. It shows on tape, and he backed it up with 22 reps on the bench (7th at combine).
4. Cedric Gray-LB-UNC, 6-2 234 4.64
I think he slips a bit due to the depth at other positions and not all teams will love him. I don't love that he misses so many tackles and fails to finish the play, but he fits our athletic and leadership profile, and was super productive and still seen as one of the best players on the team by the UNC coaching staff.
5. Jaheim Bell-TE/FB-Florida State, 6-2 241 4.61
We're looking for a Juice replacement, I don't think it's a secret now. He will be tough at to keep at his current price when Purdy gets paid. Bell is a great fit who can be a 3rd or 4th TE like Willis was in 2024. Willis is simply not big enough IMO, and has more of a receiver's body. Bell won't make it to the 6th IMO. Dude is hard to tackle and much more powerful and versatile than Brayden Willis. I think he could even be TE2 until Juice leaves.
6. Bub Means-WR-Pitt, 6-0 213, 4.43
Reminds me a lot of AJ Brown, but could be used a lot like Deebo for us. Played the X WR for Pitt and was known as a deep threat there. Super strong (#1 on the bench at the combine) and great catch radius (33.5" arms). Not huge production in the system he played in but I think he's a good fit for our scheme.
6. Andru Phillips-CB-Kentucky, 5-11 190 4.48
Explosive player, good in run support, OK in coverage, but has some coachable flaws as you'd expect down here. I like the prospect though.
6. Darius Muasau-LB-UCLA, 6-0 225 4.70
7. Akeem Dent-S-FSU, 6-0 191 4.48
Instinctive player, very underrated IMO. Great closing speed. Met with us at the Hula Bowl. I think he could surprise some folks after given time to develop. Early on should be a ST contributor.
7. Casey Rogers-DT-Oregon, 6-4 305 5.06
There really aren't many "Fat-boi" guys in this draft. We seem to like Rogers. There's some to work with here. He does well taking on doubles and is your typical run-stuffing DT, though definitely not a "Fat-boi" lol.
