HBB Mock #1

My early thoughts/predictions for the draft and free agency:

Key free agents signed/retained
  • Mac Jones
  • Jordan Mason
  • Ben Bartch
  • DJ Jones
  • Dre Greenlaw
I'm assuming the price tag on signing Drew Dalman is out of the 49ers range as is the cost to resign Aaron Banks.

NFL Draft (first three rounds only)
  • Round 1 - Tyler Warren, TE. Add more firepower across the middle for Purdy.
  • Round 2 - TJ Sanders, DT. He is a 3-tech replacement for Hargrave.
  • Round 3 - Marcus Mbow, OT/OG. Most likely a Tackle-to-Guard transition who would compete with Bartch for a starter role.
  • Round 3(c) - Andrew Mukuba, S. He could be the Jimmie Ward-like Safety that is currently lacking.
I'm also assuming the OT draft class is weak so if they draft a true OT it will be a late round developmental prospect like they did with McKivitz.

at least give me Colston Loveland if we are going tight end. And why would you assume the OT class if pretty weak?
Just the comments I am seeing around that even the top OT's have some issues that don't make them day one plug-and-play, like Simmons ACL injury recovery timeframe, Banks/Campbell may not have ideal measurables, Banks looks like he needs some significant work in the run game, Campbell might be an OG instead of an OT, etc. If the 49ers take an OT at #11 it is likely that player is a backup in 2025 while learning the system. The Combine and Pro Days will provide more clarity but for now I say the 49ers will refrain from grabbing an OT early.

Man that's a toss up. I do think Warren is a better value. He did everything at Penn state.
kittle coming off another all-pro like season and we want to go TE? He's probably getting an extension this off season.

Also who's coming off the field when Warren is out there? JJ?

I like Sanders in the 2nd. They need more than two DTs. They need some sort of EDGE help.

Mbow was pretty underwhelming this past week at the SB. In the 3rd I get it.

I don't want mcCorkle anywhere near this team. No thanks
11.Kelvin Banks Jr. OT Texas

43.Jihaad Campbell. LB Alabama

75.Alfred Collins. DT Texas

99.Garrett Dellinger. OG LSU

112.Terrance Ferguson. TE Oregon

138.Jared Wilson. OC Georgia

139.Malachi Moore. S Alabama

189.Tyler BattyEDGE BYU

228.DeMonte Capeheart. DT Clemson

255.Oluwafemi Oladejo. LB UCLA
Not a fan.

No edge, no tackle
Maiocco just posted a mock with Tyler Warren's his pick:

11. San Francisco 49ers: TE Tyler Warren, Penn State

Yes, the 49ers might have bigger needs on the offensive and defensive lines. But there is not another game-changer they can take here that compares to the ultra-versatile Warren.

There is no guarantee fullback Kyle Juszczyk will be back. Warren can line up in the backfield or give the 49ers another pass-catching threat at tight end. He creates a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

If this is a 2 or 3 year minor rebuild then we may be ok. It would mean after the draft we are at the highest a 3rd of 4th best team in the NFC. The Eagles and Lions would crush our O line in 2025.

Adding if the Lions are getting Miles Garrett.

Mac honestly lol. I'd rather get Zach Wilson. Draft is good only if you add doleman. We made no improvements there. We will look like the Chiefs if we walk in to the Super Bowl with that offensive line
