IMHO, if walker is there at 11 you takes him: you solve two needs with one guy: lb on early down and ER. If is not there, try to trade down and grab Pearce who seems to fall on most draft projection.
i would target an ER in the first round even if DT is a greater need because I love the depth a that spot. In this scenario we would add a mid/late 2nd Rd.
then I would trade up in late 1st rd from 43(43 and 75)and target Zabel: same logic as walker, the guy can probably play at all 5 positions on OL. I would put him at C.
if we trade down in the first we still have a 2nd round and a would take a DT, Williams if still there. And Bassa at 100.
if we stay put at 11, I'd take Robinson at 100 and a nose tackle later in the draft.
in those 2 scenario we would fill your 4 main needs :DT, ER, OT/G/C and LB and be free to choose other position for depth with the 6 other draft choice.

I like that.
I would go Graham, Membou, then Walker at 11. One of those three, Walker most likely to be there. He can replace Greenlaw and rush the passer. Love the player.

Drafting tweeners early hasn't played out well for us and I get your idea but you're not really addressing two needs since you still need 11 guys on the field.

I agree that tweeners could lead to no real spot where you excel. But I don't think it's fair to say both walker or Zabel are. Walker seems to be able to play all over the field and I'm curious to see what our DC could do with him. And if he could replace Greenlaw on base downs and be ER most of the time on passing down that would be close to what I mean by two birds with one stone.
for Zabel, from what I read he could project as the best center in this draft and be talented enough to play all five spot: that's the kind of linemen we need.
'anyway I think that walker will be gone before 11 and Zabel could be a mid first round and too pricy to move up…
it's been a long time since the draft hasn't been this crucial for the niners, if they fail to draft well that would probably put them in big trouble
