How do CLOWNS like this get a job?

A five round mock draft from Chad Reuter at NFL.com: https://www.nfl.com/news/five-round-2025-nfl-mock-draft-round-1

Does not have the 49ers addressing holes in the defensive line until late in the 5th. Suggests the 49ers will spend two of the earliest picks on the CB position. Seriously, what kind of idiot is this clown? Suggest the first round pick will be an OT.

Yes, I know OT is a position of need. But the defensive needs are far larger after the offseason moves the 49ers made. This guy has not been following the 49ers. At all. His lack of knowledge is stunning.
Note - Italicized names are who I believe won't make the final roster.

1.11 - Will Campbell, OT

  • Trent Williams, Colton McKivitz, Spencer Burford, Sebastian Gutierrez, Isaac Alarcón, Jalen McKenzie, Austen Pleasants

There is a lot of chatter right now about the 49ers taking a offensive tackle (Will Campbell) here or an Edge rusher (Mykel Williams). RT is a short-term need and LT is a long-term need. The team has never really pressed about addressing this OL in round 1. Our OL coach, Chris Foerster, is on the record saying the team should address other positions as he believes day 1 starting OL can be found in the mid rounds. I think we take an OT during the draft, but I think it'll be a day 3 swing tackle to replace Jaylon Moore. Burford and Bartch will compete for the LG spot. Williams (LT), Brendel (C), Puni (RG), and McKivitz (RT) are the starters. Zakelj and the loser of the LG job will be backups alongside the rookie swing tackle.

2.43 - Trey Amos, CB
3.100 - Quincy Riley, CB

  • Deommodore Lenoir, Renardo Green, Darrell Luter Jr., Siran Neal, Tre Brown, Tre Tomlinson, Tre Avery

The front office/scouting department seems to be chatty with corners projected with 2nd-4th round grades. The 49ers may be higher on them and could easily take one here. Our corners are Lenoir, Green, Luter, Neal, and Tre Brown. You gotta have at least 3 corners in this league. Maybe they make a run at Asante Samuel Jr. once the compensatory free agent period is over. We don't really have that third corner on this roster and Trey Amos would be an awesome 3rd corner to add to the mix. Can play inside or outside on day 1. Riley can step in and play inside on day 1 and with more experience can be trusted to play outside. He brings that blitz versatility that Hufanga would bring.

3.75 - Fadil Diggs, Edge

  • Nick Bosa, Yetur Gross-Matos, Sam Okuayinonu, Drake Jackson

The team missed on Drake Jackson and have been cycling guys on 1-year deals to play opposite Bosa. YGM, Okuayinonu, and Bosa are the ends. We need another guy for the subpackages where we move YGM inside on passing downs. I'm expecting an Edge Rusher in the first three rounds.

4.113 - Dylan Sampson, RB

  • Christian McCaffrey, Isaac Guerendo, Patrick Taylor Jr., Israel Abanikanda

The 49ers started the 2024 season with CMC and Mitchell injured. Mitchell is gone and CMC's injury is going to be a persistent injury the rest of his life. Jordan Mason was RB3 and he's in Minnesota now. Guerendo and Taylor is the depth. We're going to need another guy and the 49ers love drafting day-2/3 RBs. Guerendo (4.129), Davis-Price (3.93), Sermon (3.88), Williams (4.121).

4.138 - Nick Martin, LB

  • Fred Warner, Dee Winters, Tatum Bethune, Luke Gifford, Curtis Robinson, Jalen Graham, DaShaun White

Martin is Greenlaw without the instincts or processing skills. You can develop those skills. Everything else is upside. Lynch and Kyle flying to Texas to beg Greenlaw to stay tells you how they feel about the position.

5.147 - Mitchell Evans, TE

  • George Kittle, Luke Farrell, Jake Tonges, Brayden Willis, Mason Pline

Kittle is getting up in age. His extension is going to reset the market at over 20M per year. Do they extend him? Similar to the RB position, they love day-2/3 TEs. Latu (3.101), Willis (7.247), Woerner (6.190), Smith (6.176), Kittle (5.146). They clearly need a TE2 as Juice has been that guy. The team really wants to move on from him but they can't. Maybe Farrell will end up dethroning Juice, but signing him to money they could have chipped over to Greenlaw tells you a lot about how they feel about the TE depth on the roster.

5.160 - CJ West, DT

  • Kaila Davis, Jordan Elliott, Kevin Givens, Evan Anderson

Coming back to your protests over "why wait until round 5 to address the DT position," it's because the class is pretty deep. It's not the 2019 or 2016 IDL class, but you'll be able to find DTs late. The position could use at least another guy to add to the rotation. We don't really need a 3-down DT.

The 49ers do not draft pure need. They don't always draft pure BPA. It's a blend. TE is the only pick here that really isn't a need, but it isn't outside the norm for this front office to make such picks.
