49ers to Target the 2010 QB Draft Class???

Probly Bradford... He has simply shown more to this point. Snead has better tools, plays in a tougher conference, and more of a pro-style offense.

I hear a lot about Snead now, but I don't recall hearing anything about him last year or seeing him play.

Thats because he was forced to transfer from Texas to get out of Colt McCoy's shadow, and last year was his first as a full-time starter. During which he put up excellent numbers... and in the SEC no less.

McCoy and Snead are the same year, but McCoy won the job because he simply took to the offense quicker and never relinquished control.

In my honest opinion, I prefer Texas' QB Colt McCoy. He is one of the most accurate college QBs I've ever seen!

i like mccoy's scrambling ability. the niners need a scrambling QB. to me its just another weapon the other team has to account for if they QB can run.

We do not need a scambling QB... It is an excellent trait to have in college because, if elusive enough, a scambling QB can absolutely take over a game by himself (see Vince Young in 05' rosebowl). But defenses are simply to fast in the NFL for scrambling ability to pose a consistent threat.

Pocket presence is a much more important trait... and there is a very distinct difference between the two (see Alex Smith). Being able to buy more time in order to find an open receiver and deliver an accurate pass to that receiver under durest is the key.
I wouldn't touch any of the QB's next year in the first round.

Are you guys serious that you would rather have Bradford/McCoy/other rather than two of: Berry, Mays, Okung, Kindle, Selvie, Griffen, Hardy, Cody, Gresham, Williams, Spiller, etc.

You guys are crazy...

Personally, give me Berry and Cody. Those two players are much better pickups than one QB that won't even start for a few years and will suck for awhile and you don't even know if he will be any good.

Id take snead over Mays, Kindle, Hardy, Cody, Gresham, Williams, and Spiller... but not Berry or Okung.

... And absolutely guarantee that Cody doesnt even go in the first round next year. Same could probably go for Mays too... and Im the biggest USC fan on the zone.

Gotta go with 'wads on this one.

You underestimate the power of the 40 time. He won't slip past Oakland.

So I'm seeing a lot of you saying you want to draft a high profile QB in next years draft.... and I recognize some of you from all of those Alex Smith, Shaun Hill debates rooting for Alex to step up and be our "franchise" QB and be an all star QB.

Not making sense here. You guys are contradicting yourselves. All up on Alex Smith's bandwagon, yet hoping we draft a QB that would most likely go in the top 10 picks, a la Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy...

I guess you guys don't have too much faith in your boy Alex Smith anymore. I never did!

I have never backed down from my support for Alex Smith and I'm about to start now! All I meant was that if I had a choice of the QBs projected to be in next year's draft class, I would choose Texas QB Colt McCoy. He is one of the most accurate college QBs I've ever seen! Just look at this video from YouTube!

Thanks for the info and I hear you about scrambling qb. Maybe not scrambling g in the sense of Vick or Young but being able to shed of defenders like Big Ben is what the Niners need.

true but of the guys listed, colt mccoy also is probably the most accurate of the other QB's too. he has wheels, stuff breaks down he can find a way to make the play. much like montana, young, Elway, garcia... did. i think scrambling is always welcome in a QB's skill set. its another tool at your disposal. but they have to know the time to use it, not just run for the sake of running like Vick and Vince Young

Thx. But even if a person would rather have two other players than those I chose, I would still rather have two first round picks to fill voids in other spots than get 1 QB who won't even contribute for years down the road if at all.

Personally, I would rather build the "team" and then get a proven vet on the open market to fill our QB need.

You said you're about to start now, as in you're about to start backing down and stop supporting Alex Smith. Doesn't this mean you finally agree that he sucks?
