If you notice every succesful Qb in the last couple of years has something in common besides being that franchise QB they were suppose to be.....nice semi strong arms...good running games...and lastly they all have good O-line!!! Flacco Ryan Sanchez and u can even say Cassel...none of these guys are the Qb's they are if we had drafted them...as much as I hate drafting a lineman in the first round we should use both picks on it...get Bulger in FA and I think we got ourselve a nice Offense

so when Bulgers six-year, $62.5 million contract extension he signed in 2007 is up is that when you suggest we get him in FA?

Yes we do. If the niners coaches aren't sold on Nate Davis being that guy.
A franchise QB is tough to pass up. If you don't already have one 100% and one is staring you in the face you don't pass on him.

Nope. I still have faith in Nate Davis being the guy. We must fix this o-line. Any QB playing with this o-line will look very bad, and that includes guys like Peyton and Brady.

I don't know about Nate Davis but I am fairly sure that right now our line is a qb killer.
And as most of the top rated qb's likely to be in the draft seem to have loads of doubts and questions, maybe we leave it for a year and start to build a real line for our future guy. Or Davis.

Yes we do!!! We can always find a good Guard through FA, but McCloughan is too stubborn to do it. My draft would probably go like this:
1a. Eric Berry/Taylor Mays (whichever one is available)
1b. Trent Williams
2nd. Dan LeFevour
3rd. Dan Williams
4th. Eric Olsen

I agree with Berry/Mays, an OT with our 2nd 1st rounder (I'm still on the Anthony Davis bandwagon), and Dan Williams (who I'm very high on as our next NT), but with our 2nd round pick, if Mike Lupati is there, that would solidify our o-line for years.
Staley-Lupati-Heitmann-Rachal/Snyder-Anthony Davis/Trent Williams/Bryan Bulaga

Yes.
Hill is a decent qb, but you simply cannot win consistently without a franchise QB, and if you expect to win it all without one, then you pretty much need an all-time great defense like the '85 Bears or the '00 Ravens. Even then, those teams only won once. Sing should understand this, since he was on those Bears teams.
If it were up to me, I'd use our 1st round pick on QB every year until we got it right.

I hope you're joking. There are no QBs in this upcoming draft worth taking so high.

If we don't sort the line put, how will we know when we have got it (the qb) right?

IF NINERS draft a qb, they likely have to wait 2-3 years for him to develop....im not sure the present g.m. would feel comfortbale doing that, as he might not be around that long
so the niners could look to free agency for a qb, but unfortunately the best out there isnt good enough (jason campbell cant make a go of it for the skins)
could niners find a young qb to trade for (would you give up a 1st and 3rd for kevin kolb?)

That is the worst trade I've ever heard
Like I keep saying before, any QB brought in to play with this line will look no better than Hill and Smith. We MUST work on the o-line then see if Hill or Smith can be serviceable until Nate Davis can take over.

I'd watch for Barkley out of USC in a few years he's 18 or 19 years old and he is undefeated and played GREAT against Notre Dame with pressure in his face all day. Clausen looked good too, it was a great quarterback game and both play pro offenses. As for people sayin other qb's wouldn't do better then Hill with this offensive line must be high. Hill is a bottom 10 qb in the NFL I can actually name 15 quarterbacks off the top of my head I'd rather have then him and that would EASILY produce more from this offense then he does mister I can't get it up on third down. Look at Aaron Rodgers who gets sacked more then Hill, I'm pretty sure Green Bay moves the ball often don't they? Stop making excuses for Hill because he is playing just like Smith did but of course it's not his fault? OPEN YOU EYES Hill isn't that good stop telling yourself he's a top 10 qb, your high. This forum cracks me up lol.
