Spiller or Best

Jahvid Best displays on this one play what will make him a great NFL running back prospect. He has vision, quickness power and breakaway speed.

Reminds me of Bush highlights, those didn't translate to the NFL either. In the NFL, players are far better athletes with great tackling skills. 3 guys had shots at Best, in the NFL at least one of them will get it and limit him to a 4-5 yard gain on that play (if he had that much room at the NFL, which he won't).

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I think Best is a great player. I just don't think he is a franchise back or top 10 talent at the RB position.

The real question here is can he block pro defenders? Seems like Sing and Raye believe that is a must.

I know we have threads for each player already and I apologize for an extra thread, but I wanted to know who the Zone would rather have on the Niners if we were to go down this route considering that, at this point in the season, we could select one with our later 1st round pick.

In all honesty, I am a bit torn. I've watched a lot of Jahvid Best since I'm a Cal fan, but not all Cal running backs seem to have good success in the pros. I haven't watched a whole lot of Spiller besides his youtube videos, but the guy looks electrifying and could give us a huge boost as our very own Chris Johnson.

So for all you other "experts", who would you select?

Both are nice backs, and alot of people here, being west coasters will say Best, but Spiller is nice too, but please dont forget about GA Tech's Jonathan Dwyer, he is a awesome back as well.

I didn't forget Dwyer at all, but with Jahvid and CJ being similar in size and style, I wanted to know who you would prefer.

Umm, idk, probably Best will get the most answers, 1 he is CAL boy and 2 he most popular and so explosive.

I'd rather draft a guy like Spiller who's bigger and stronger but still has a lot of speed. Plus, I think Sproles might want more money.

Best has the talent and ability

but he needs to come through in BIG games (show more etc)

the bowl game vs Miami was the only big game he played in my opinion

Granted, the whole CAL team dissappears during big games.

i would prefer CJ Spiller is better than Javid. I already watched to Javid on the youtube video. he look ok. i believe it. I think, Javid is best the move to WR? yes why not? Javid is very good speed and fast run that kinda a WR than RB. Spiller is kinda fact a RB. go 49ers
