I'm not a fan at all.
First of all I know Spiller is the zone's next big thing. Seems like every year a guy is hyped beyond ridiculous levels and CJ is the guy this year.
I like him enough and he can be a dangerous weapon and a great return guy but to spend a top 15 pick on a 3rd down back is just too crazy imo. I would rather draft Noel Devine in the 3rd or 4th or a guy similar to them.
I know people see Chris Johnson doing his thing out there and they figure Spiller will be the same but I don't see it. First of all I'll be very curious to see how "big" Spiller will be at the combine. He looks smaller than his listed size and to be more than a 3rd down back he'll need to take a beating.
So at least imo...you can't use that early a pick on a guy who won't contribute that much. We have too many holes right now to be able to draft a guy like Spiller so early.
As for both Morgan I think you have their respective selections swapped. I'm also not a huge fan of either guy. I like Derrick more but I have concerns with how he'd transition to LB. I still prefer a guy like Jerry Hughes or Sergio Kindle but I could live with morgan.
It's not the worst thing I've ever seen but at least for me I would much rather see us go in another direction...especially if free agency falls teh way you have it(which woudl SUUUUCK)

I am sorry, but any draft that does not have us taking at least 1 Offensive lineman in our first three picks gets no credit from me. We have a major problem and need to draft either a tackle or a guard, if not both in the first two rounds!
T. Pashos only signed a 1 year deal, so he wont be released. But when he was healthy he was the best RT on the team so not resigning him and not drafting a tackle makes no sense.

It should be noted that Chris Johnson was labeled as nothing more than a 3rd down back, and pretty much half of the people here wanted to jump off a bridge if we took him.

Not a fan at all. I like the Spiller pick, but to not answer our offensive line woes with Alex Barron in free agency would make for a horrible offseason. We need to draft an o-lineman with one of our 1st round picks.

Baas is not as bad as people make him to be. He's given up one sack on the year and if it goes to an uncapped season we'd be crazy not to tender him. Worse case scenario he's here to push Heittman, Rachal.

Like I said...I'll be very curious to see what he measures in at the combine. He looks smaller than his listed size and it sure wouldn't be the first time colleges beefed up their players.
Frank Gore is still a hell of a player. If we get a good offensive line in place he is more than capable of giving us a great running game.
Good OL + Frank Gore + a guy like Noel Divine > This OL + Frank Gore + CJ Spiller

We definetily have to upgrade the line, but I'm not one to believe that we have to start the draft OL, OL, OL in order to do so. You look at the great lines in the league and most of them aren't built that way. You can find quality RTs in the 3rd round. The top guard doesn't come off the board to late in the 1st. You can also find a slow footed tackle whose better suited to be a guard like the Saints did with Carl Nicks. I'm not saying I'm against drafting a lineman early, but as of right now I'm open to all options including HB, QB.

I do not like this mock at all. It doesn't address our most glaring needs, OL and Pass Rusher.
Spiller would address our KR/PR needs and possibly 3rd down/change of pace RB, but until we fix our OL, it doesn't matter who we have as RB.

I agree but those teams also have top notch OL coaching - let's not forget in the days of Bob McCittrick we hardly ever drafted linemen early and had great offensive lines constantly.
However if you grab a top talent at OL and you coach him up you'll get a perenial pro bowler. Offensivelinemen would also play every offensive snap, where a guy like Spiller wouldn't see the field enough to warrant a top 15 pick.
