I don't get why Jerry Hughes is being mocked in the second round either. Not talking about the original poster, I've seen numerous mocks from reputable sites that rate him as a 2nd rounder as well. He seems to have good size and he has performed well against good opposition. I guess it's kinda like Groves, E Brown, etc..

Rashad Jennings was a beast last year for Liberty and fell all the way to the 5th round. The guy is clearly better than Glen Coffee.
But back to the mock, I would take that draft.

I don't understand that either i'm thinking his measurables are less than desirable and maybe we don't have the full insight on that as other already do. Kinda like Everette Brown stock took a hit when he measures in at like 5'11.

I think Hughes will raise his stock during the offseason not lower it.
I would love that draft tho even tho I don't think it's very realistic. I'm not a big fan of drafting a guard that early but the kid is a stud plus we'd still get my favorite player in Hughes ;)

you'd probably have to switch Williams and hughes... williams stock is really falling and many see him as a 2nd rounder right now.

I heard a little about that too. I also think taking Williams with close to a top 10 pick is way too high. Especially since he has been performing terribly as a LT. If I were to take a tackle that high, I'd expect him to be able to play left or right tackle.

What we need is a quality, dominant RT. We have our LT in Staley. Nobody in the draft is predicted to be a dominant LT. So whoever is a quality RT is good for me.
We also need a OG and someone who predicts to be a starting center to back up Heittmann.
Then hopefully Boone pans out to be a RT or OG.
So a nice set would be Staley, Iupati, Heittmann, Rachal, Williams/whoever/Boone.

The small school theory doesn't work anymore. Look at Larry English (Northern Illinios), Leodis McKelvin (Troy), Joe Flacco (Delaware), and our very own Joe Staley (Central Michigan).
If you have talent, they will find you, whether you are in a BCS conference or not.

And personally I think Hughes has much more talent than the names listed above when they entered the NFL.

Is he getting burnt or is it the saftey over the top getting burnt? Its not always on the corner.

combo of both, you see some flashes but dude is way too inconsistent and nfl wrs at least the good ones will school him. like he can be covering the guy great but he doesnt turn his head around for an easy pick or deflection ive seen it a few times

DeMarcus Ware (troy), Bart Scott (Southern Illinois), Tony Romo (Eastern Illinois), Miles Austin (Monmouth). And even if you don't go to college: Eric Swann
