interesting, but I wouldn't take Golden Tate seeing how Dez Bryant might be available still when we pick(may or may not)

regardless I'd take a OT with that pick because it's more of a need right now

If we are going to run a spread style offense, do we need to improve the talent around Smith ? Yes.

Does Golden Tate possess these attribute ? Yes.

Did the Lions do well by constantly using first round picks on WRs? No.

Do we write off Jason Hill and Brandon Jones as non-contributers and incapable of providing a downfield passing threat? No.

I wouldn't go as far as to say we will draft an OT in round 1. It all depends on who will be available to us when we pick. But we will address the OL via the draft and FA.

An improved and more consistent pass rush would make the secondary look a lot better than they do. Again we will likely add to the secondary however it may come via FA and not the draft or possibly vice versa.

We are not the Detroit Lions, we are the San Francisco 49ers. Tate can be used in the wildcat as well and with an improved and re-tooled line we may try to use that formation again as well.

As far as being a spread offense, it would be in our best interest. It's the offense that best fits the QB, and why try and make the QB fit the system....we should try and fit the system to the QB's skill set (like NO, Indy, NE, Pitt...all teams that have QB's that excel in the pass game and have invested into upgrading the WR talent to help the QB succeed).

Brandon Jones has never proven to be more than a #3-4 and he likely never will. Jason Hill has earned little playing time, when he is on the field he has looked like nothing more than a #3-4 and has never shown the ability to be a true vertical threat. Josh Morgan has yet to show he truly deserves to be the #2 on this team. Competition = good thing, brings out the best in all players. Brandon Jones should be cut in the offseason, terrible signing. Has not earned his paycheck when healthy, he has not earned more PT and their have been opportunities to get more PT (Morgan surpassed Bruce).

Devin Hester would have been drafted higher had he had a position coming out of college, no one knew if he was a CB,WR or a RB. Tate is a WR.
