What good would Spiller do with nobody to block for him? We have an elite RB already who is only 26. Spiller is the sexy pick but not a wise one!
Not at all. Speed on this offense is desperately needed. Other than VD who can take a simple pass and bring it the lenght of the field to the house? We need more explosiveness on this offense. We were ranked 29th. This is a poor offense overall.
We can get one Guard or Tackle in FA. Then we draft one Guard or Tackle in the draft. We still have one 1st rounder remaining. CJ Spiller or Dez Bryant would be great. Josh Morgan is a #3. He doesn't belong out there. Dez Bryant and Crabtree with VD would be amazing out there. Look at the Saints or Vikings for example. They have multiple receivers and weapons. They don't just have one.
Speed isnt everything, look at DHB or our own Jason Hill who owns the 7th fastest time ever at the combine. We have Frank Gore and we drafted a RB in the 3rd last year.
Its never going to happen, Never!
He is a completely different kind of back from Frank Gore. Gore is pound up the middle down hill. Spiller is run to the outside with speed (Chris Johnson) and return game (Devin Hester). That's the type of impact Spiller can have. And yes that's WORTH IT. You can have 2 backs. 1 speed and 1 power and down hill. That's real good actually.

I would love Spiller in the first, or Graham, or Haden, or anyone who can be a starter for our team. I just want to be sure that we get the Oline set. So if it if is Iupati and Dunlap, or McLain at ILB, or Benn, or Williams. I don't care I just want to quality starters in areas that will help our team and I hope that one of those two first round picks is a quality Oline pick. But if our team picks two starters and we can fix the Oline with Fox and Carter I am ok with that as well. We just need to fix the oline with all of the other issues as well

We have to many needs. We are not even a playoff team yet because we have to many holes. Id much rather have a player who will play every down and fill a hole for years to come.

The explosiveness and speed he could bring would be worth it. WZers who are saying Spiller at 1B are totally UNREALISTIC IMO. We have a COPYCAT LEAGUE and people see the domination of Chris Johnson. So even a poor mans Chris Johnson is going to go real, real high in this draft IMO. Of course it depends on how well he runs. But I believe we need to get him at 1A or even trade up to get him if we want him. If he runs a blazing time people will look at Chris Johnson and say we need this Spiller guy. He may go in the top 10.

Good, maybe it'll push a top OT down to the Niners.

Reggie Bush ring a bell? He was a way better prospect than Spiller ever could be! how did that turn out?

Reggie Bush has been injured almost all the time in the NFL. BUT WHEN HEALTHY HE HAS BEEN EFFECTIVE. People knock him all the time on the WZ. But remember vs. Chicago in the playoffs a few years back? He was pretty damn explosive if you ask me.
A healthy Reggie Bush = pretty damn effective if used properly on dump off passes out in the open space.
He has not been healthy. And the Saints offense emphansizes WR's and TE's more than the RB out of the backfield with Brees. That's just the nature of their offense.

Plus, speedy RB's can be drafted later in the draft.
Ray Rice: 2nd.
Jamal Charles: 3rd
I realize there have been a lot of busts at OT, but the Niners have got to improve that position. How many sacks did they give up from the RT position this year? How many tackles for a loss came from right up the middle? I don't know the stats, but i know it was way too many.

The RT is pretty bad...
Even in this last game it was.

I think we learned our lesson trying to fix our O-line in the free agency. Unless someone REALLY good, young, and non-injury prone is available without too high of a demand for salary I say we inject some youth into our obvious weakest spot on the team.
would LOVE to see two OL picks in the first

Agreed! Bryant would give us the needed speed on the outside and he returns kicks! we can find a nice RB in 2nd or 3rd round....So id take a Rt and a speedy receiver/kick returner with the 2nd #1pick...

McCloughan has already said in the past he doesn't like to pay top dollar for guards. 2nd or 3rd round tops he'll take a guard imo.
We're definitely taking a tackle with one of our firsts.

Also give the Spiller hope a rest. Gore just gave us 1100 yards and 13 tds, extremely unlikely the Niners will put RB that high on their list of need.

If we want Iupati or Williams we probably have to take one of them at #13 because Seattle will probably gobble the other one up at #14. I doubt we can get both.
