1 St. Louis - Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame
2 Detroit - Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska
3 Tampa Bay - Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma
4 Washington - Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma
5 Kansas City - Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State
6 Seattle - Eric Berry S Tennessee

Assuming St. Louis doesn't find a QB in the offseason I think they go QB in the draft. Otherwise it's Suh.

Quote:

7 Cleveland - Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech
8 Oakland - Bruce Campbell OT Maryland
9 Buffalo - Anthony Davis OT Rutgers

Offensive line for Oakland makes too much sense. It's not glamorous enough for Al Davis. I really think Cleveland goes with a QB, especially with Holmgren there.

Quote:

10 Jacksonville - Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State
11 Denver (fr/Chicago) - Rolando McClain LB Alabama
12 *Tennessee (fr/Miami) - Joe Haden CB Florida
13 San Francisco - Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa
14 Seattle - CJ Spiller RB Clemson
15 New York Giants - Taylor Mays S USC
16 Miami (fr/Tennessee) - Dan Williams DT Tennessee
17 San Francisco (fr/ Carolina) - Jason Pierre-Paul DE South Florida

I really can't see us getting a DE in the first round. If we don't go two linemen (my dream) it'll be a skill position for one pick and an OT for the other.

Quote:

18 Pittsburgh - Terrance Cody DT Alabama
19 Atlanta - Carlos Dunlap DL Florida

I don't think Dunlap goes in the first round. I can definitely see Pittsburgh taking Cody to replace Hampton.

Quote:

20 Houston - Earl Thomas S Texas
21 New York Jets - Golden Tate WR Notre Dame
22 Baltimore - Brandon LaFell WR LSU
23 Arizona - Trent Williams OT Oklahoma
24 Cincinnati - Brian Price DT UCLA
25 New England - Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma
26 Green Bay - Mike Iupati OL Idaho
27 Philadelphia - Everson Griffen DE USC
28 Dallas - Donovan Warren CB Michigan

The Cowboys actually have two very good CBs. I can't see them drafting another one in the first round. They really need safety help.

Quote:

29 Minnesota - Colt McCoy QB Texas
30 San Diego - Jahvid Best RB California
31 New Orleans - Sean Weatherspoon LB Missouri
32 Indianapolis - Jason Fox OT Miami

I really don't think Minnesota will draft a QB in the first round. I think they still have hope that T. Jackson is the guy for the future and will sign Favre for one more year.

Otherwise I have no real issues with any of the other picks.
that will be one hell of a draft for Seattle

Those last 3 words scare me, I want guys in the first who are ready. Balmer was labeled similarly, FWIW.

I think the pick is unnecessary because it doesn't really provide a need. If we drafted Pierre-Paul, Brooks would still be better than him IMO. I'd rather use that pick on Iupati.

JPP's ceiling is what makes the pick so attractive and someone will take a chance on this kid's all world potential. As I see things falling right now, the 49ers would have a hard time passing on him at 17.

There is no way that Seattle doesn't take an OT in round 1. I also think they will draft a QB with their other 1st rounder. I am sure they would love to land Berry and Spiller, but they won't get both. If Berry is still on the board at #6, they may bite or trade down a spot or 2, but I think they have their eye on Clausen or Bradford and one of the remaining OTs Bulaga/Williams etc.

Actually there are lot's of ways Seattle could come out of round 1 without an OT. It all depends on how the board falls. The way I see it, if Berry is there at 6 they will not pass on him just like they didn't pass on Curry. I don't see Trent Williams as a top 20 pick so no way was I going to reach for him at 13. In place they take BPA which like Berry also fills a critical need for them.

If this mock went 2 rounds they would either trade up to the bottom of round 1 (27-32 range) or sit tight and hope Charles Brown falls to them.

I want two starters out of the first round and starters this fall, not in the future. I think Bulaga would be great and then whoever we need from their. I would not be adverse to BPA at 16/17. I just want a starter and not a project. So it could be Iupati, the safety from Texas, Graham, Robinson the CB, or Arenas. I don't care as long as they fill two holes in our team.

The holes in our team or ROT, OG, OLB, Punt and Kick Off Returner, CB/FS, RB/WR, last two players need speed.

Pass rush can stand to be improved/upgraded, and the pick of JPP does just that. He also has a higher ceiling than any of the current OLB's on our roster.

We also need to keep in mind that not all our holes will be filled by draft picks, some will be addressed in FA.

Exactly how I see it as well, and there are slim pickings at QB via FA. The FO needs to find it's face of the franchise and QB for the next 10 years.

1998-1999 & 2004 were all years Al Davis spent 1st round picks on OT's and in 2004 the first 2 picks were OL. Al Davis knows he needs to get better in the trenches after his QB's were sacked 49 times (3rd worst in the NFL).

Holmgren will IMO make some changes to the offensive staff (Jim Zorn as a QB coach potentially) but there is a good chance that both top QB's will be off the board, and I doubt they trade up to nab one. A lot of people have Haden there but I think he will get the Browns back to running a 4-3 defense as the first step towards getting better. It will be far easier to find talent in the offseason to run the 4-3 and with the D finishing so poorly the last 4 years (31st,26th,26th &27th overall) it shows it's time.

Pass rush is still a need and a place this team can stand to improve. If the BPA is a DE/OLB and there are no interesting trades on the table to move down then that will be the pick.

Dunlap's talent is 1st round quality, and even though his stock took a hit following his arrest he still can work himself back into the 1st round which is what I see happening.

Newman has suffered a rash of injuries the last few years although he played in every game this year but still suffered from nicks and dings. He will also be 32 next year. Warren can be tried at safety (and he feels he can play there) if not kept at CB, he also has been used as a punt returner during his time at Michigan so he may get a chance to win the job as well.

McCoy would be an even more ideal pick if Favre came back for 1 more year, they need to find the QB of the future and begin to develop him. The lack of faith in T-Jack was proven when they traded for Rosenfels this past offseason and then listened to offers for Jackson. T-Jack's days are numbered in Minnesota.
