Although we have many solid pieces on both offense and defense, we have weaknesses on both sides of the ball. So far I see the majority of mock drafts having us targeting players on the offensive side of the ball, yet we had a terrible pass defense.
In my opinion, we have alot of playmakers on offense (crabtree, morgan, davis, gore, walker, coffee) and although I think we need another reciever and a Tackle, I think our defense needs the most work. Our DBs will be Nate (30), Dre (33), Walt (35), Lewis (30), and very injury prone. As well, Smith and Takeo are on their way down. I would focus on a CB and a Saftey with 2 of our first 3 picks, with the other one selecting an OT.
Anyway, I wanted to know what YOU thought we should focus on, Offense or Defense.

O-line and secondary. I would be just fine if EVERY one of our picks in the 2010 NFL draft was an o-lineman or a position in the secondary. Those are our two weak links that we have to address this offseason. Look at the Jets, they don't have as many "playmakers" as we do on offense, but they have a great o-line and a great secondary.

- NFL Pick 'em
Definetly think we need to go BPA, but we need to fill spots on both sides of the ball.

I'd ass a pass rusher to this list.

We need Offensive Line and Defensive "weapons"
IMO we have some good offensive weapons: Gore, VD, Crabs. Be nice to add a speedy back to that!
We really lack Defensive weapons, Willis is the only established one, we have some promising ones (Goldson, Brooks, Spencer) but I would rather get some more options in case they don't work!

Our defense is very close to being elite, and the pass defense isn't nearly as bad as the common perception would have it. The only area where we really struggle on pass defense is against the big play and even then we're right smack dab in the middle of the league.

OL, OL, OL and OL. Did I mention OL? Really, use the first two picks on a Tackle(Davis/Williams/Bulaga) and a Guard(Iupati). Then turn to the pass rush, kick returner and then the secondary. OL should be our #1 priority.

O line first and foremost. A Secondary's best friend is it's pass rush.
I change my way of thinking regularly on this subject as to what exactly is our main need.
We got killed on 3rd and long situations over and over and over again this year and in previous years. If we can get the same production out of Brooks this year and we can add another cog to that in the 2nd or 3rd round, a real gem that can start straight away, I believe that we can make 1 solid addition to the Secondary this season and we will then be upgraded massively, leaving us to then re-assess that position in 2011.
If it went something like:
OT
OG
DB
OLB
I wouldn't be too put out at all, but I have a feeling, that if we are faced with a certain Jahvid Best falling to us in 2, we might just take him there and give Frank some help, meaning we have to unearth a white hot, small school type guy who can make the step up, who falls to round 4.

I would love that kind of draft if the DB was a Punt Returner as well.

We need a little bit on both sides. We could use another pass rusher, DB, and safety on defense. We need Oline, and could use a RB and #2 WR.
