If Harbaugh and Baalke are sold on him then I can guarantee we trade up into the late first or early second to get him. I smell a trade with the Patriots.

Just wanted to show what Christian Ponder can do when healthy. In '09, versus UNC with all the "great, NFL caliber defensive players (Robert Quinn, Marvin Austin, Bruce Carter, Quan Sturdivant, Deunta Williams, Kendric Burney just to name a few)",
Ponder was: 33/40 for 395 yards, 3 TDs. and 0 INTs., including an 98 yarder, QB rating 190.2.
And now for you viewing pleasure.........Ponder vs. UNC '09
Side note: UNC's defense was 13th in points against (16.9), 6th in total yards (267.8 yards), 12th in passing yards (2099), 9th in rush yards, 13th in INTs (19). So in summary. Ponder put up great #s versus a statistically great Defense.

Nice comeback, seemed like too many super short throws in the 1st half but when he needed to make a big play he did. Like the zip on his medium/longer range passes. Steps out of the pocket a lot of the time, but also showed good pocket presence when he needed to make the big play. Some of those passes were in a super tight window, like to see that too.
I like him

I agree. He looks exactly like what we need as our WCO QB. Dude is legit.

Pump fake and touch!
Tight Windows!
Come from behind win!
Tough Competition!
If we don't get Gabbert in the 1st, then I'm all for trading up in the late 1st to get Ponder.
Patrick Peterson/Von Miller/Robert Quinn + Christian Ponder =

No way the Patriots want more picks, if anything the Patriots trade up.

Draft Prospects Worth Fight For
Quote:
QB Christian Ponder: Florida State
It’s no surprise that Ponder would be the QB I target, seeing as I have him as the number one rated quarterback prospect in the draft. He’s not quite as physically talented as the big three juniors in the class. However, he’s a tough, gritty kid who displays good accuracy and anticipation in the pass game. Plus, he’s comfortable from center, is athletic enough to create second lives for an offense and if he checks out medically, I wouldn’t have any qualms at all taking a look at him in the mid/late first round range.

Sorry for all the errors, posting from my droid.
E, Fla. --Christian Ponder was right on the money with nearly all of his passes, giving Nat otball League talent evaluators one more look. e Florida State star quarterback has been moving up quickly in the opinions of many NFL scouts af ng named the MVP at the Senior Bowl followed by his performance at the league's combine in ianapolis that some said was better than Auburn's Cam Newton or Missouri's Blaine Gabbert. d Ponder -with help from longtime NFL receiving great Isaac Bruce -did nothing to hurt that mentum at Florida State's pro day Wednesday, zipping pass after pass to Bruce and a handful of rida State teammates. nder has been trying to prove to NFL scouts that he has totally recovered from injuries to his throwing arm.

Isaac Bruce was there helping him out? We have a decent connection with him I believe. Hopefully still haha. I am real high on Ponder have been since last year.
