Coby Fleener - TE Stanford

if the packers let finley walk we can lose out on fleener
If Fleener runs a 4.6 or faster at the combine, he is a top 25 pick at least and maybe higher. After the ridiculous season Graham had last year, there is no way in hell any team is letting another awesome tall athlete to make it to the second round.

As long was we sign our guys from last year, I would take Fleener and Crick and some DB prospects and call the draft good. Davis, Walker and Fleener present an absolute nightmare situation for defenses.

Nope, Fleener is a flat-out better prospect than those guys. Egnew is slow as f**k getting into his routes, not sharp into making his cuts, Green is much more of a WR than TE, he'd need to improve a lot as a blocker, he'd also need to pack on additional weight. These are both guys who would need time to develop, Fleener would be ready to contribute starting Week 1, that's the difference.

Green was at 240 lbs during the Senior Bowl. I think he can continue to fill out that 6'6'' frame once he starts hitting the weight room.

Weighed in at 237, to be exact.
You guys it's such a win win to draft Fleener! He has WR speed, Harbaugh loves his TE's(Fleener he college scouted him) to his offense, he has great height and hands, and he'll be ready to contribute right away. We thought Vernon was open during the playoffs, Good God VD will put up 20TDs this coming season. We snatchup Fleener in round 1, and take Brian Quick, Tommy Streeter or Dwight Jones in the 2nd and 3rd and we are establishing weapons for years to come!
This kid will go 1st or second round. I think Harbaugh will have a hard time passing on him. I think we could do alot of damage in three TE sets. Plus it puts even more pressure on the LBS. I know people think we need a wideout. I agree. However the talent won't be on the board when we draft first round. If Fleener is on the board he is likely the best talent available and he can help us immediately. I really think we are at a point on this team where you have to draft talent first high in the draft. We will have to find a wideout and guard in the mid rounds. 2-5.
There might be a stud TE waiting in the 1st between Allen and Charles. Fleener will probably be taken early in 2nd. If we pass on a TE in the 1st (extremely likely), Egnew and Green are excellent options to come back to.

1. Jeffrey / Sanu
2. Egnew / Green

That's a little early for Green because he's so raw and lacks the blocking skills to contribute much early, but I think he could be gone by our 3rd selection. Trading back to land either Allen, Charles, or Fleener would be a nice move, but I think the team is really goin to focus on adding a weapon on the outside. Signing a top FA WR would give a ton of options in April. If we sign a big name WR, I'd love to see us trade back and snag the top remaining TE. We need someone to take some pressure off Vernon.
If Fleener runs as well as I expect him to, I will probably have him at the top of my want list.

Having a player like him on the other side of VD is just too appealing.

Fleener would be great, Probably end up being our QB's fav target, especially in the red zone

Would be fun to see Harbs mixing in a 4 TE formation that a defense has to deal with
fleener is not getting passed up by the giants at 32 when they have ballard and beckum out with torn acl's

Its a good thing that the 49ers draft before the Giants then huh? Imagine adding Fleener to that group of receivers, talk about a matchup nightmare. Nobody really knows what the organization is thinking but Fleener is the pick I would love to see in the late 1st, more than anyone else who might potentially be available at that spot. A dominant tight-end opposite VD is just too much of a matchup nightmare to pass on.

How about this?

Delanie-Byham-OT-OG-OC-OG-OT-Vernon-Fleener

Alex at QB,
Justin Smith at RB.

I kid. Go 5 TE with Justin Smith in between the tackle and Davis.

Walterfootball is officially on the Fleener to SF bandwagon! lol

San Francisco 49ers: Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford
Umm... did I forget about Vernon Davis? No. Jim Harbaugh loves utilizing multiple tight ends in his offense. If you don't think this can work, let me refer you to the Patriots. Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez complement each other rather well.

Harbaugh needs to acquire an offensive playmaker for Alex Smith, and Coby Fleener happens to be the best one available, as taking any receiver at this point would be considered a major reach.

Pick change; previously Alshon Jeffery, WR
I think I may be leaning towards this bandwagon
