With all the love Fleener is getting and also being the clear cut #1 TE in this draft, really really doubt he falls to the 30th pick.

It wouldn't surprise if he went to the Eagles at #15.

the eagles will take that lb from bc or kendall wright especially if theyre really thinking of trading jackson before taking a te

If not the Eagles, then the Bears would be another landing spot at #19, but I just don't see him falling to the 30th pick.

I think Cutler wants WRs, not TEs, but anyone could see the potential and take a stab

We've even said it ourselves, this WR class is deep and could easily take one in the later rounds.

They might have Floyd or Wright sitting there at their pick. We probably won't.

I'm just saying as much as we all love Fleener, you have to expect another team loves him just as much if not more. With that said, I would absolutely take Floyd or Wright over Fleener. Its not that I don't like Fleener, its just that I think a #2 receiver could have more to offer than another TE as of right now. Sure Fleener isn't just another TE and knows Harbaughs playbook to the T, I just think you can give more looks on offense with another playmaking receiver, IMO.

Orson Charles will be the first TE picked off the board if he runs a 4.4 and puts up beastly combine numbers as is expected.

So a #2 receiver will give you more options on offense than a 6'6" TE who can block, runs great routes, can split out wide....etc...................do explain.

Will you be lining up Fleener outside every other play, and also throwing a two-TE set every other play too?? If that's the case, just re-sign Justin Peele who does exactly that. Remember only one football gets thrown around in a football game. Nevermind that we also have a Pro Bowl TE already on the roster, what the heck do we have at receiver???

Having a #2 receiver as opposed to a #2 TE, speed, quickness, routes are the advantages for one.

Would I be mad if Fleener was drafted in the 1st....not at all, but I see your bias, no need to get personal, JMO.

first of all we dont have a #1 WR
a #1 WR definitally without a doubt is more important than a #2 TE

Yeah, and those #1 guys are just hanging around all over the place. There's a handful of #1 WR's in football that teams have to gameplan around, there's several others who are good players but can be handled with a single CB, and there's no guarantee that by drafting one early you're going to get a #1 anymore than you would by drafting in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th round.

The very best stud receivers usually go in the Top 10 picks, after that its a crapshoot and you can find a star just as easily as you can find a bust, and you're more likely to draft a bust WR in the 1st than any other position.

So yeah, Fleener makes the most sense, followed by a 2nd-3rd round receiver that can be developed properly while Crabtree, Morgan and a FA hold down the WR spot.

Not getting personal, just wondering. Unless you have exceptional receivers, its fairly straightforward to shut them down with good cornerback play, there's quite a few teams that have 2 good cornerbacks. It's a hell of a lot more difficult to shut down two top tight-ends. Teams aren't prepared for it, the Patriots were lighting teams up last year because they couldn't handle the mismatch, too bad their secondary was absolute garbage.

Its one thing when you're the Giants and you have Eli and he's got quick receivers that he can basically make passes to them in tight windows, its another when you have any overly conservative Alex Smith who has shown a fondness for TE's and a reluctance to throw to WR's. Even if you get some stud receiver, it's not like that receiver is going to be destroying coverage all the time, Alex still has to make the passes, and from what I've seen, a 6'6" TE across the middle who can corral some of his higher lobs is going to be a lot more valuable than another receiver who might not be anymore productive than Crabtree.

or the Colts, who I already hate (and will continue to hate forever) for having the dumb luck to get Manning and Luck back-to-back. If they traded up to get Fleener ahead of us. My hate would reach a thermonuclear, face-of-the-f**king-sun HEAT! That said, I think they would make that sort of move. It makes even more sense for them, with Dallas Clark an injury-prone FA and Them wanting to set their new Franchise w/a weapon hat he is comfortable with.

Agree, almost feel like we may have to move up 2-3 spots. Get who we want.
