YOU are on the clock... [2012 collaborative mock draft]

49er Draft Summary

49ers picks and their overall ranking on National Football Post (for reference)

1- Mohamed Sanu- WR, Rutgers (NFP Ranked 41)
2- Josh Norman- CB, Coastal Carolina (NFP Ranked 53)
3- Andrew Datko- OT, Florida St. (NFP Ranked 46)
4- Jacquies Smith- DE/OLB, Missouri (NFP Ranked 214)
5- Devon Wylie- WR, Fresno St. (NFP Ranked 116)
6- Terrance Ganaway- RB, Baylor (NFP Ranked 274)
7- Deangelo Peterson- TE, LSU (NFP Ranked 124)

Overall I would be happy with this draft. I didn't care for the Smith pick (reach at this juncture), but I would still be very pleased with this type of draft. For every somewhat reach there's a major steal (Datko, Wylie, and Peterson)

I guess it depends on what draft site you look at. Personally, I trust NFL Draftscout much more than National Football Post

Their rankings:
1) Sanu 36 (taken 30th)
2) Norman 87 (taken 62nd)
3) Datko 207 (taken 94th)
4) Smith 198 (taken 126th)
5) Wylie 236 (taken 158th)
6) Ganaway 163 (taken 190th)
7) Peterson 147 (taken 222nd)

I disagree that Datko was a good pick. OT is not a position that the Niners had to address that early especially with a guy with injury concerns. Furthermore, the Niners should not walk away from this draft without a 3-4 DE.

Bottom line is I wouldnt be thrilled at all with this draft
I also felt the Datko pick was the sore thumb of the draft, and I dont mean to pile on but Billy Winn, Ladarius Green and Senio Kelemete were still on the board at that moment

Based on my own observations, NFLDS has been the place I've been in the most agreement with, over the past several years. But also, I believe they've proven to be more accurate as well in their analysis. Neither is perfect, nobody is, but I just don't believe NFP is quite on their level.
