Does anyone think we should look at laMichael in the second? He's a beast. Thinking best player available he gotta be top of the list in the bottom of the second...

No. We need a brusier back not a shifty one as we have Hunter already.

I'd love to see him in this offense. I don't care what type of back he is. I trust in Harbaugh to use the talent the roster provides..

He will mostlikely be extremely similar to Kendall Hunter in the pros.

Honestly James is going to have to put on 10 or 15 pounds to be worth an early pick. At 5-8 185 he is the same height as Hunter but 15 pounds lighter. Realistically James will more then likely measure in at 5-7, the same height as Hunter which will peg him as a 3rd or 4th round prospect. If James doesn't run a 4.2X 40 he will probably slide to the 4th round.
Hunter's ability to gash defenses(4.2 YPA) and the fact that he got through the entire year without injury will inevitably help James' case though.

I really like to grab him in the 3rd or later. He's may be like Hunter but I think he's faster and is alot better in open space.

Why not pick him up in the second and have him specialize in returning punts for a couple seasons?
As I recall, punt returns are an area of need ...

Not if we re-sign Ginn. Ginn is a top NFL returner.

I just watched my first clips of LaMichael James......Holy crap. I don't think the niners have ever had a runner like this. He's quicker than gore, more powerful than his size and he rips more 30 to 40 yard runs than I've seen in a lot of backs. He has a great spin move which could get him in trouble in the NFL at times if he spins the wrong way. He is great at hitting the hole and unlike Reggie Bush isn't afraid to run between the tackles. The guy can catch too. I see Harbaugh and company putting him in the slot like Reggie, but this guy is a gamer. I like the pick a lot.

He and kendall are different. They are similar that they stretch out a defense and burst through the hole, but I think LaMichael James is quicker. I think the Niners like their styles because both get up the field so quickly.

Both can be used effectively behind our big line.
