Pro Comparison from NFL.com

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-pro-comparison/0ap3000000470311/Pro-Comparison-Devin-Smith
Smith showed his ability to get deep and make terrific catches vs 'Bama and Oregon, two of the best teams in the country. I knew he was fast, but it was his strength, toughness and ability to adjust to the ball and make the catch despite good coverage that really impressed me. I'd love to see him in crimson & gold next season.
Lacks natural, soft hands. Will double catch and corral throws into body. Tries to catch, turn and run before securing the throw. Shows a lack of patience in his routes. Game too heavily reliant upon speed. Must learn to be effective when deep ball is restricted by defense. Thin hips and frame. Play strength is below average. Can be frustrated by physical corners. Gets jostled and distracted when bodied hard down the field. Desire lacking as run blocker. Often taken off field and replaced when Buckeyes wanted to run out of "11" personnel.

Expecting a 4.4 flat.

"Keep trying"

Arent you the same person who used the logic "teams want to win now, so they'll draft a project player"

Stock dropped
4.42 the 2nd attempt which is closer to his field speed. I still think he's faster than Kevin White and Amari Cooper.

Anyone that starts to doubt Smith as a result of his 40 time is a fool. I had my reservations about the 49ers drafting him in the 1st round but would LOVE to see him drafted in the 2nd, no doubt.

Ellington ran a much faster 40 time last year but I bet you Smith beats him down field without any problem.
Wasn't Ellington 4.46 anyway? He is shifter but smith to me runs faster downfield

I hope so. Would love to get him in the second.

4.45 but yeah I think there's a huge difference in terms of speed, Smith has that extra 5th gear to really get downfield in a hurry while Ellington has outstanding quickness.

Dorsett is a far better prospect with better hands
