Good hands and breakaway speed. I bet he goes in the 2nd and if we don't go wr in the first I will be pleased with Smith in the 2nd.

The Niners offense was at its best when we had Moss deep threat along with Vernon. With the threat of Moss and VD, Crabtree and Delanie took advantage of the middle of the field. We have the players to take advantage of the underneath routes, but we need a deep threat like Devin Smith.

I'm in
Smith, Dorsett, Lockett, it doesn't matter to me, as long as they get one. If Baalke comes away with a true deep threat and a starter on the D line, this draft 8s a success.

Both Smith & Dorsett will be gone by Niners pick in round 2.

I doubt 9 WR's are gone by our pick in round 2. I feel like at least one of Strong, Coates, Funchess, Smith, and Dorsett will be there at 46. Jamison Crowder is another speedster to look at in rounds 2-3.

Smith=Terry glenn
After watching him perform vs 'Bama and Oregon, I was impressed not only with Devin's speed, but his size & toughness. He'd be a nice 2nd rd pick after Baalke snares a stud DL in the 1st. I think it's important to remember it's likely Boldin and SJ will be the starting WR's next season...with Patton & Ellington playing a more prominent role. Insert a fast, bigger receiver like DS into that mix and it should be very interesting to watch.
I honestly couldn't care less if he had a poor route tree! This guy has wheels and we need that. Heck just send him deep every play just to make the defense cover him and open up underneath. Guarantee they'd be able to hit him deep behind defenders at least twice a game which would be more than we got out of our passing game this whole year!!

I wouldn't necessarily get too upset about that. MadDog thought it was a huge mistake to draft Aaron Lynch, so he's clearly not always on the money.

This guy has a rare ability to high-point the ball. He's really good at that aspect of the game.

This is the time of year when certain players get substantially overrated. Guys that people consider to be "2nd round locks" could very well end up falling into the 3rd round and beyond, even with a good combine performance. The only WR's that I look at as absolute 1st rounder material are Cooper, White and Parker.
