RB Leonard Fournette

My pops till this day swears by Bo Jackson. Says if he hadn't got hurt then he would have been in conversation as best running back to ever play. There is no debating him on it. Lol

He definitely is in the conversation for greatest athlete ever.

He was some kind of back. No question.

He's definitely up there with one of the best combinations of size/speed we've ever seen. Jordan, Lebron, and Westbrook have to be in the discussion because they could have been big time football players if they wanted to. Westbrook's athleticism and endurance probably would have translated to soccer as well.

If you define athleticism as your physical ability in any sport, then I'd probably pick Lebron as the best overall athlete, because the extra height/length would transfer to most sports (basketball, many positions in football, tennis, swimming, rowing, any sort of martial arts - boxing, wrestling, judo, etc.).

Bo Jackson would likely have Lebron is baseball where height can be a disadvantage as a hitter, but if Lebron played football, I think he could have been as good as Bo (at WR or TE, not RB obviously). His vision and hand eye coordination translate to numerous sports and he's absurdly strong for his size at 6'8 (one of the strongest players in the NBA at 260 or so and one of the most explosive). Lebron could have been a professional in almost whatever sport he wanted to if he committed to it as a child.

I was born in the early 80's so I do have some vague memory of him. Insane size and speed combination. Seemed like an athlete from the future, before his time almost.
You Bo fans should read Bo Knows Bo.
I believe Fournette will be a beast in the NFL too, the guy's special. I'm not prepared to say he'll be better than Gurley, but it'll be fun watching both guys carve out careers in the league & hopefully create numerous exciting battles for the rushing title. .

Not only will next year's RB class be stacked, the NFL in general is going to be stacked at the position over the next decade +... Could be a new golden era?

I think AP (Hof) still has a lot left in him (maybe 4-5 years) & then you have guys like...

Jamaal Charles (Potential hof)
Bell (Potential hof)
Gurley (Potential hof)
Zeke

Fournette (Potential hof, never played a snap in the pros, but he is a super freak)
Cook
McCaffery
David Johnson
Hyde
Martin
Etc...

Hell even Chubb, Gallman (really like what Gallman offers, probably my 2nd favourite RB in next year's class) & perhaps Melvin Gordon turns it around.

I'm glad the RB position is coming back with a vengeance. The NFL is looking in good shape over the next 10 years.
Imagine having a lead in the 4th quarter and you just pound the rock with Fournette. One play action fake and you have an easy 6 over the top, game over.

Your pops is absolutely correct.
How's Fournette's ACL's?

Huh? Is that an actual question? Or is it rhetorical?

I've never heard of him having an ACL injury.

Just a joke about Baalke and drafting guys with ACL history.

Nah, if Bo hadn't gotten hurt he'd be the unquestioned GOAT at his position like Jordan or Rice. And Marcus Allen would be in the HOF as a fullback.

I don't know if I'd say unquestioned. If he hadn't gotten hurt it would be him and Barry and Carlos Hyde.
