Im interested in hearing more about this scheme-dependant tag on Fournette. What systems does he fit nd not fit? What teams can you guys see him with? I thought the Jags would be an early picking team that may jump to grab him if he was available with their top 10 pick

Still can't sleep.
...So who's going to be a better pro'? Fournette or Zeke Elliot?

I think he could play any blocking scheme, zone or gap but I think he's best suited to play in a man blocking scheme where he can run downhill behind a fullback and some massive maulers up front. Give him some daylight and let him power through.

Eff taking a QB with a top 5 pick give me either Fournette or Garrett. Those 2 dudes are the only top 3 worthy players IMO. + if we draft Fournette i wouldnt mind the Niners trading away Hyde, not only cant the guy stay healthy but i am sure he would throw a hissy fit if we took Fournette to eventually replace him. Hyde is a ok back at best. Fournette is another AP type of back in the making those guys dont come around every so often.

You are correct. AP has had a HOF career, but no noteworthy postseason runs. Definitely not consistently. Why not? It certainly isn't his own fault, but because of the QB situation in Minnesota.
Point being, it's a sucky situation to be in, but no team in today's NFL will win consistenty because they have a great runner. They will win because they have stability at QB.

the fact that we have chip as our HC now adds even more need to the RB position for us. his offense is a ground offense and hyde has proven by now that he not only cannot stay on the field but simply cannto be relied on. maybes hes just getting too many touches, he could really flourish as a #2. im not discrediting our need for a pass rusher cause we obviously need it bad im just saying we need a reliable RB even more and we have a freak athlete sitting right in front of us waiting to be picked.
i think chip has been passing more than he wants to cause he has no reliable RB yet....so we would be running even more if we had someone who could run it.

The reports are there are no Slam Dunk prospects coming out this year nor in the near future so i say take the BPA N if its either Fournette or Garrett you cant pass that opportunity both of those guys are franchise players them QB's not so much big gamble especially if we do end up with a top 3 pick. Maybe our best bet is to gamble N try to trade for a vet QB i mean we will have the most cap money available so its its money whoever comes in to play QB then pay them N hopefully we bring int enough of a supporting cast to better the team now instead of waiting around another 5 or 6 years for some sort of progress, but 1st thing 1st we MUST GET RID OF BAALKE in order to have a successful draft this year. If he has his hands on this draft again. You can kiss those dreams goodbye.

the unfortunate truth. in order for all this to be successful we need someone else besides baalke drafting.

Saban's defense held him to 1.7 YPC last year.

At least 4 of them would be starters for the 49ers. Their front 7 may actually be better than ours when we're full strength - it's definitely better than ours when Williams and Bowman are out.
I'd take Allen, Payne, Williams, and Foster who are all likely to be first round picks. Payne isn't eligible until next year as a true sophomore unfortunately. Ryan Anderson would probably start over Brooks too, but may be a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Where does the hissy fit accusation come from? I haven't heard anything to justify that?
