QB Carson Wentz NDSU 6'5 225 Lbs

So what are people's thoughts if he's there at 7?? I think he could be pretty darn good under chip.

North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz is now Todd McShay's No. 1 quarterback. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/cfb/134146/carson-wentz

The analyst ranks Wentz as the No. 8 overall prospect in his newest Big Board. "I've finally had time to study enough tape on the top QBs to put Wentz No. 1, slightly ahead of Jared Goff," he wrote. "Wentz has the frame (6-foot-5¼, 233 pounds). He has the arm. He can make all the throws -- even in cold, windy weather. He's a mobile QB who extends plays with his feet. And in the most important areas of QB evaluation -- mental makeup and accuracy -- Wentz grades out extremely high." NFL Media draft analyst Lance Zierlein compares Wentz to Blake Bortles and colleague Bucky Brooks wrote recently that Wentz could be used like Cam Newton.

Please and Thank you.
That's IF all three take QBs

honestly i dont think the browns will pick up Wentz. After failing over and over again to draft a reliable QB, i think the organization will go after the safest QB with the least bust potential. Goff will be a brown

I doubt that all new staff will care all that much about what people they have no connection to may have done in the past. I imagine that they will draft whichever QB Hue feels the best about.

Or they realize their defense was awful last year and their two best seasons were with QBs named Brian Hoyer and Derek Anderson. If they're smart they'll take one of the great defensive players available. Boss is local too.

Hue does have a past at the university of Cali though

He's actually from Florida but yeah he did go to OSU.
I like the comparison of wentz to bortles. I think wentz has the frame, arm, accuracy and football IQ to become a soild franchise QB in the NFL.

I graduated from NDSU. I love what the program has done. I live in Bismarck ND and Wentz went to Century High and is a year older then my son.

I like the kid a lot, and I think Wentz showed poise, but I just don't understand how he could be a 1st round QB pick.

He played a full year last year, and a handful of games this year, and yes, I watched all the games and he played good in the championship game after being out, but that is all it's based on is 1 1/2 years and that is it..

so a 1st round pick?
I don't get it.

Thanks for the input! He seems to have all the tools you need to be a successful QB especially in today's game...one of the great things with chip is we don't need a hall of fame caliber QB to score points.

I think if he had a year to learn the system he could be real good. I agree that at 7 might be a stretch but many scouts and great player evaluators have him going in that range. Not my first pick but I wouldn't hate it.

I have a ton of family from Montana so go griz lol.

Interesting all those teams seem to have pretty stable starting QBs. With only Saints & Bears possibly needing "QBs of the future"

Teams that reached out to QB Carson Wentz's h.s. coach for info: Saints, Bears, Chargers, Packers, Chiefs, Raiders.
