@PSchrags: QB Carson Wentz is the total package. 6'5. 237. 10 inch hands. 4.0 GPA. Converting doubters. Many NFL evaluators blown away by him this week. ‪#‎NFLDraft‬

The reality of it is that not processing info quickly, lack of anticipation, and lack of field vision are death knells in a QB eval for me.

I can sit here and tell you the positives of Wentz: big, athletic, pretty clean mechanics for a small school guy, solid arm strength.

Which is one evaluation out of how many.

I think Scouts Inc offers a more balanced look.

Wentz is experienced conducting a pro-style system. Height and good stature enable him to scan the entire field from inside the pocket. He clearly puts in the time and understands situational football. Shows quality awareness against the blitz and executes hot reads/site adjustments well. There's no questioning his physical or mental toughness, either. He frequently shows no fear staring down the gun barrel and will step into throws even when he knows he's going to take a shot. Displayed strong poise in critical moments throughout two seasons, including a come-from-behind drive late in the 2014 FCS National Championship game and a come-from-behind win over UNI in 2015 after throwing two early INTs. His decision making as a passer has been good (career TD-INT ratio was 3.2-1, and 4.3-1 in 2015). But he needs to learn when to pull the plug on a play (despite big hand span of 10 inches, he had 10 fumbles in 23 starts and also fumbled at the Senior Bowl). There are two additional areas he will need to improve upon: 1) He has a tendency to lock onto his primary read, and 2) He takes too many risks in the red zone.

Believe it or not, he can throw the football to a guy 5 yards away without gunning it straight into the ground or trying to break all of his fingers. True story.

It's so funny, people hear some good news about our so-called franchise QB and it's all run and go knock every QB that's out there.

My feelings about our so-called franchise QB, I'll believe it when I see it. Same thing about Tomsula, no feel good story is gonna have me sold.

Wasn't this the same guy who say loved Manziel?

He thinks it shows that Wentz has a slow, elongated delivery like Kaepernick does which you only have to watch the guy throw the ball a couple times to see that the situation is really the exact opposite. Wentz has a very quick delivery, especially for as big as he is.

In general, Goff, Wentz and Prescott all have very quick releases. Lynch and Hogan are the guys with the more elongated throwing motions.

Absolutely just one evaluation but I think the holes are there in things which are tougher to learn quickly. It's why I like Goff, imo he's more advanced than Wentz or Lynch in things which make successful QBs. That's not saying that Wentz can't fix those things but to me I'd be nervous drafting him that high just because personally I don't know where his head is at.

You know where I stood with Kap...potential for days and someone who appeared to love the game and be a hard worker...and yet he could never overcome his flaws as a pocket passer. Now Wentz has displayed better ability in the pocket than Kap but not that much better so I'm weary about guys like that.

WHEN THE f**k DO I ALWAYS LOOKING TO BAIT PEOPLE? SHOW ALL THESE EXAMPLES.... it's real simple. You want to make stuff up and throw that out there, back it up.

seems like you're the one doing a good job baiting.

I don't know why you wanted to be a mod again if you can't separate being a poster and fair moderator.

edit- I mean is this not baiting?

I think youre confused as to what "throwing motion" really means.

If you cant see that both have a significantly different delivery, I dont know what to tell you.

How's about right now, judging by your post it's only meant toward starting an argument.

Back on topic, no need to call me out as a Mod at least not here. But back on topic.

Phoenix, if you could see what I look like... the women I get... the type of good friends and family I have. I have it good.. .which is why I don't feel the need to lie about our players and bash them on the internet.. my life is good.

trust me, when I post on here... it's with a smile... just because I use CAPS doesn't mean I'm slamming the keyboard.
