If that happens, Baalke is looking at Goff or Stanley at #7 or a trade down with Rams to #15, where Rams take Goff and Niners take Emmanuel Ogbah at #15 and get an extra 2nd RD pick as well as a 4th.

In absolutely under no circumstances should the 49ers actively aid the Rams in getting a potential franchise quarterback. Whatever picks they got would be utterly meaningless in comparison with the potential of facing a Goff and Gurley led offense for years to come.

That would suck to see Goff and Gurley on the same team, twice a year for the next 10 years.

Even if Goff didnt turn out great, he'd still have a chip on his shoulder over being passed over.

Really doubt Baalke would go there either, if it had been any team outside the NFC West, then it becomes more of a possibility.

Aaron Rodgers had that same chip but could only beat us when we were bad. In our good years, we owned him and made him eat that chip, every. single. time As long as we handle business as a Franchise (which there is no guarantee unfortunately), I couldn't care less about any one player having a chip. Aaron is one of, if not, the best there is at the position and he couldn't beat us when our defense was top notch

Still would prefer not to give anyone any extra incentives...

Trade back would be the best case in that scenario.

If trade with Rams at 15 we can get someone like Treadwell or Floyd

At 22 we can go for Nkemdiche or Spence

This, if Buckner and Jack are gone.

Very possible scenario, but firmly believe Browns take Wentz at #2. Even with that, Jack could go to Jags at #5 and Buckner goes to Ravens at #6.

Or better yet, trade down with Rams to #15 and take Darron Lee, OLB Ohio State.

If the trade partner were the Rams, for a QB, they will have to give up more than that. They have two 2nds this year; They would have to give up 15, one 2nd and their 3rd or 15 and both 2nds and we toss in a 5th or no deal. And that's being generous to allow them to move up and grab their QB of the future, IMO.

If we can grab a pass rusher in Free Agency, I think we take a QB at 7. If we don't, being that Goff nor Wentz are "can't miss", I'd prefer defense at 7 or a trade down for more early picks and defense there. Free Agency is big this year
Don't trade down within the division.

Being that there is no guarantee in the draft, especially regarding either of these QB prodpects, it is all about what WE do to right our ship. If gathering two extra 2nd rounders helps us reload our talent and get our guys as opposed to taking a QB that has a TON of developing to do, I'd be fine with that. Reloading that defense and Oline will bring us back to being competitive by 2017. Chip will have a top 15 offense with Gabbert, guaranteed.

Agree and definitely would never come to that. If the Rams want Goff that badly they deal with the Ravens a spot ahead of us. Rams know we won't take that risk and Ravens have a propensity to trade. Even though Rams are desperate I still don't see them pulling the trigger because it will cost a ransom to move up that high and they have many holes to fill with their offseason losses. While I like Goff at 7, it's a tough sell for a team outside the top 12 to give up the two 1st round picks it'll take to get into the top 7. IMO, if Cowboys pass on a qb we are getting whomever the Browns don't take between Wentz and Goff.

You never want to help a division foe strengthen a major area of weakness. You can say "well maybe he won't work out?"

To which I say,"what if he does?" If that happens, the 49ers stand to lose far more than they gain which is why a trade down in such a scenario would never happen.
if wentz or godff are there you gotta take one of them

let him sit behind gabbert/gabbert for a year then start them
If Baalke and Chip want Goff they'll trade with Dallas at 4 (assuming he's still on the board). They switch picks and they give them our 3rd, straight up. Then I would imagine Trent takes our fourth and one or both of our fifths for a third.

If it's Goff, take him, he is more pro ready. Wentz needs more time to develop and would not factor into anything significantly for LA until 2018-2019. By then, we would have the defense to combat them...in theory of course. In fact, them adding two more studs in the 2nd plus whoever they get at 15 could do just as much damage than a developmental QB, IMO. If it was moving up for a guy like Luck or Newton, it would be different but he is not NFL ready

Would love to take Wentz. I really see him as a franchise QB. He's got such great touch on his passes and he can also zip in there when needed, and he's also a good athlete. Ya, he might be a work in progress, but he can sit behind Gabbert for a year.
