QB Carson Wentz NDSU 6'5 225 Lbs

Just doing some simple team stats for the 6 games that Carson played this year:

256 rushes
179 passes

59% rush/ 41% pass. 64% completion 8.1 yds/ att. 16tds/2 ints.

44% rush/ 56% pass. 65% completion 8.6 yds/att. 37 tds/13 ints.

I maybe should have clarified my pro style statement. NDSU doesn't sit back and throw passes to pad stats. They are a power run team, that to me much more resembles a pro offense then the spread.

Carson may or may not turn out better than Goff, but I think I would rather have the 6'6" 235 pounds guy.

I would love nothing more then to trade up from our 2 into the last 1st round to grab Wentz.

I don't understand the argument here. Because NDSU runs more, Wentz is more suited for the pro game? in a QB driven league? Because Wisconsin QBs have been so successful in the NFL..

With Goff, its so much more than stats. He makes NFL throws and makes these throws almost ALWAYS under pressure. I'll agree his stats are a bit inflated due to the nature of the offense they run but its the film that gets him his hype. I'll take his ability over stats or measurables any day of the week.

The more I think about this whole draft thing the more I think Wentz will be the QB the team drafts. Goff looks like he's out of the picture, they can get a OL/DL or Treadwell with 7th then draft Wentz on top of 2nd if he still there.

If we don't land Goff, you all better hope this guy hits us in the 2nd round, or we'll be waiting a long time to get our hands on a franchise QB.
