Robert Nkemdiche-DL-Ole Miss

I think the biggest red flag isn't so much the weed thing its the lack of production. 6 sacks in 29 games isn't great and never forced a fumble.
He will probably be like Randy Gregory last year fall far but not out of the first round. A veteran or playoff team can probably keep him straight and focused like the pats, denver, or even panthers.

Getting drafted late can send a wake up call to a kid, drafting early is like, see, I can't do no wrong. So I doubt he gets drafted by the niners unless he falls to the 2nd, but I don't think Kelly or Baalke want to deal with this kid.

That would be a dream come true. Niners need to swing for the fences. It's final jeopardy, and they can only win if they bet everything because they don't have enough to win otherwise.

I didn't know this, but the fall out of the 4th-story window was only about 15 feet.

That actually makes me feel a ton better about this dude's sanity.

Smith is a better prospect with a less severe injury and injury history. Plus, he can choose to stay a year if he's going to be a late round pick. If he's going to be a 4th round pick, he isn't coming out this year. Of course there's a shot that he dies between now and the draft and doesn't get drafted at all, but realistically, he won't make it past the 2nd round. I'm not even confident he'll be there when we pick in the 2nd.

I believe once you declare for the draft you can't go back, NCAA rules. You can get from the NFL an analysis of your possible projection, but that is not a gurentee, so once you declare that is it. If you do not like where you are drafted to bad. NFL rules are not like MLB.

I think it's once you sign with an agent, you can't go back.

Fair point - I should have phrased the 2nd sentence in past tense - if he was going to be a 4th round pick, he wouldn't have come out this year. He was probably hearing first round or second round at worst when he made his decision. There's no guarantee, but there's no reason to believe he'll make it to the 4th round.

At this point it looks more likely that he's drafted in the first half of the first round than the 2nd round let alone the fourth round.

I believe if he doesn't get drafted in the 1st he get's a $5 million dollar insurance policy as well right? IF I were him I'd want to get drafted in the 2nd by the Niners and learn next to Bow

Pretty sure that's correct. Worst case for him is that he gets drafted near the end of the first round, so he doesn't get to collect on the insurance policy and loses millions of dollars due to his injury, but at least he'd get to play for a good team.

He's the anti-Nkemdiche. He has a brother who got in trouble in college (at Ohio State), but he's completely clean off the field, comes across as very humble, is very religious, and is very articulate in interviews.

I'll be pumped if he somehow falls to the 2nd and we get him, but I think mid-late first is more likely now. The same goes for Nkemdiche - I'll be nervous if we pick him at 7 but if we trade back or trade up from our 2nd round pick, he could be worth the risk.
Trade down for extra pick(s) in 2017; draft Nkemdiche.

Trade up w/ extra pick(s) in 2017 for Myles Garrett.

The defense is back.

And the offense still sucks. If would prefer to trade down get Jack Conklin/Michael Thomas/Taylor Decker/Carson Wentz and then trade up for Garrett next year if possible.

Offense can be taken care of in FA if we did a defensive draft. With Chip, we will put up points.
