DeForest Buckner DL - Oregon

I really go back and forth on Buckner. The Patriots drafted 3-4 dlineman early for years. I'M sure the Oregon connection won't hurt.

All that being said, I'm really focused on improving the talent in the Oline.

I agree that the Buckner option will be dicated by FA.

Agreed. If he's there at 7, I'd love to have him.
DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon

A disruptive pass rusher, Buckner is firmly in the conversation to be the best prospect in the 2016 draft class. Buckner was excellent in 2014, when he outperformed team mate Arik Armstead, a first-round draft pick for the 49ers who had an impressive rookie season. However, he took his game to another level in 2015, generating 12 sacks and 68 total pressures, and played the run at a similar level. While a natural fit as a 3-4 defensive end, Buckner has traits that translate to any front.

Would you say Buckner is a better prospect coming out of college than Armstead?

Of course. He is way more polished than AA.

By far...AA should have stayed another year, 2014 was he's first year focusing on football and he was injuried throughout the year. The talent is there an everyone knew he was raw..we will be pretty happy 2 years from now drafting him.

Buckner is a beast and the best 3-4 in the draft and it's not close. Having both of them with taking on double teams with Williams Buckner or spence in the 1st for me
Buckner and AA ride on the same boat.. the only difference is, Buckner is more advertised because he's not as SOFT as our very own BABY HUEY...

I've already stated that Lynch was overhype as a QB, look where he at right now.. and Buckner leads the top of my OVERRATED defender in this year's draft.

only Baalke would once again fall for the measurement of Buckner..

Buckner would make our D fierce!
but according to NYniner85 in his continuance of supporting Baalke,

we DONT draft DL who can go get the passer, and that's the reason why we drafted Baby Huey.. to clogg the OL and allow others to make the plays..

so therefor, even if Buckner is as good as advertised, why in the world would we DRAFT him???

He is 10th overall in Matt Miller(Bleacher Report) big board, 5th in ESPN, 5th in Daniel Jeremyah(nfl.com) and 7th in Dan Kadar(SB Nation). Also the draft hasn't even happened yet so we can't say you were right or wrong on Lynch yet.

Huh? AA didn't have a issue getting to the passer considering how little he played...he's issue was shedding blockers and following the ball, he's raw and everyone knew that when he was drafted.

Yes our DLs man job is taking on multiple blockers so our OLB get one on ones along with our ILB getting clean looks at the RB...getting a player that can ALSO get pressure on the QB is huge and Buckner didn't have a problem doing that this past season.

Justin smith's best season with us he had 8 sacks would you say he wasn't a good 3-4 DE for us??

speaking of our D-Line I actually think Dorsey is expendable. Get another 3-4 DE starter and have Dial as a backup depth role

Yeah dial isnt starter material good depth...I think Doresy was a much better NT then DE for us.

Yes and that's not a knock on AA.
