DeForest Buckner DL - Oregon

Peyton, Brady and Favre were all the same age as Romo when their teams invested in QB's with a higher pick (2nd rounders with the first two and a first with GB). I think they will remain a wildcard with the way things stand now as to what their true intentions are but if you are that FO you have to at least do your homework on those top QB's before FA starts to go into all this with a sound strategy and make the right decisions.

San Diego probably goes with the top player on their board that is not a QB however like Dallas, what they do in FA will be the key.

Yup but those teams you mentioned didn't spend a top 5 pick on any of those guys though...I'm not saying Dallas doesn't draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd but I just don't see it at 5.

I think the talk of taking QB by the jones is in hopes of a trade down or like you said having another team taking QB ahead of them so someone drops.
what you all need to think is that no team in this league will actually tell the world who they like and what they are planning to draft..

NFL Media draft expert Mike Mayock says Oregon DE DeForest Buckner could end up being the top defender from 2016 draft.

"He can play up and down the defensive line of scrimmage. He's nasty, he's tough, he's powerful. He's got a little Reggie White hump move that's friggin' awesome. Eight to 10 years from now, I think he'll be one of the guys we'll be looking back at that will be in the conversation as the best defensive player to come out of this draft," Mayock said. Mayock ranks Buckner No. 1 among interior defensive lineman. Following Buckner in his grades are, in order, Ole Miss' Robert Nkemdiche, Louisville's Sheldon Rankins, and the Alabama tandem of Jarran Reed and A'Shawn Robinson. Feb 22 - 7:45 PM

I've got him as the best player in this draft. As an added bonus, he did most of this work against LT's in college, which is a better test than against RT's. Smart, solid leader, and from all accounts, a really good guy.

DeForest Buckner would be a great fit in the #49ers scheme, and PFF is a huge fan.

Yup outside of Goff he's my #1 choice

Pass on Boyd doctson is pretty good but I think he just got hurt?

Treadwell is #1 IMO he reminds me of Dez...as long as he stays healthy he will be a fine wr.

Treadle does not get too much separation. On the "Herd" he was compared to JJ Stokes.

Buckner, Goff, Wentz or Spence. Make it happen Baalke.

Yup I could live with any of those four...ill throw Jack on that list as well

I second this motion.
Does Dials extension mean Buckner pick is less likely?

I don't think so. I think Dial's extension will allow Baalke to send TJE packing, therefore still having a need at end (preferably a big name FA or a high draft pick)
