Most Baalke supporters here believe that AA was used to clog up the blockers so that others can make the plays.. but that's BS, because if you're up by 17, what blockers do you need to clogg when you know it's gonna be an 80% passing down.. 2.5 sacks to me just means that AA is purely weak..
While Buckner on the other hand, registered about 8 to 12 (if not mistaken), but those 6 games I watched them played, re really didn't stand out... the guy deserve to be in the 1st, but NO top 10 (IMO)... he reminds me of "Big Daddy" Wilkerson.
It all depends on the scheme. If you understood the game, it is not clog up the blockers but to take up 2 to 3 players even on a pass down. If there are 5 blockers plus a rb staying in, then you are taking up players and freeing the rush lb or other to either be a mismatch on a rb or someone to break free. In other words, in the niners scheme 3 DL take up 5 blockers so that the 4th and 5th player can get in there. If in taking on more than one blocker he still breaks free, better still. Even if you are up by 17, teams can still run a delay to get big chunks or a screen, by taking up blockers you don't allow them to hopefully get outside and lead, instead the rb or wr will be naked.

After the Kap trade's finalized, Kelly will want and need another QB...and while I understand the notion of talking Goff, this FA period and draft are opportunities to plug quite a few holes, but more importantly to take huge strides toward building a dominating defense. Ian Williams will be alongside most likely Armstead and Baalke taking Buckner would arguably establish the Niners as having the best young front 3 in the league, at least in terms of size and talent. In my mind, Buckner's Armstead in beast mode...something Eric can and will learn as he establishes himself as a starting DE/DT. I'm all for adding LB, pass rushers, secondary, but only after Baalke upgrades the front 3 to something special. It's no secret building a dominating/suffocating defense is the single biggest step toward being a playoff team again.

This... Having the front three take up 5 offensive lineman opens up for our linebackers to rush the QB. We've already seen AA get double teamed and they would probably have to do that with Buckner as well.

I just am not very sure how far ahead Buckner is from Butler and no one is talking about Butler belonging on the Top 10..

Jags get Fowler back and just signed Jackson. Jack will probably be their target.
Baltimore needs a T to protect Flacco. Stanley is probably their guy.
Very good chance Buckner is there at 7 if he gets past SD

its unfortunate the draft is so defensive heavy up top, guys like jack and buckner can go anywhere from 2-8

I really want niners to get Buckner but if we get Jack, I won't mind that either.

I would love to have Buckner, but as things heat up, he might be gone. Especially if Kaep gets traded to the Browns. Dallas could do anything, they resigned their lb, so it is either DL, WR or QB.

They won't take a WR at 4. Ramsey/Hargreaves are in play there, Bosa as well

If they can take the pressure off Dez, that would just make them more dangerous, or if they take a RB who is even better than what they have. Who knows what Jones is thinking. Bottom line, I think the Bosa and Buckner are gone by 4 or 5.

Not bad thinking at all. I think if gets past SD, he will fall in our laps at 7. Dallas is the wildcard but I think they take Bosa. Jacksonville just signed Jackson and they get Fowler back. They are weak at LB tho and Jack should be there. Baltimore has a gaping hole at the T position and Stanley has to be that much more appealing to them which leaves either Goff or Buckner for us.
