DeForest Buckner DL - Oregon

Or CB...or FS. Everywhere on their defense needs help.

A DL of Armstead-Williams-Buckner, with Dial/Purcell/Dorsey/TJE rotating in would be pretty nice.

Our safeties are set. Our CBs are lacking a true #1, but the depth is adequate. Also need to add a pass rusher.

You come away from this draft with Buckner and an OLB, we'll be respectable on defense. That's a good core to build around.

If we can make our front seven elite, the DB's we have now will look amazing.

Agreed. Two of Conklin's three lowest graded games of the last two years came against Oregon.

So who brings more to our table. Jack or Buckner. Also of these two positions which could we find an almost equal value later on. Example. Is there a de we take later that could potentially impact like buck. Or an ilb. Similar to jack but not as hyped?

Well I think the draft is much deeper at DL then ILB (both have some good players) Jack might be the bigger impact player next to bow IMO. After his pro-day it seems like he's not dropping to us now.

Buckner would be a great addition to our DL. I would be stoked to get either really.
Oregon DL DeForest Buckner best schematically fits the Chargers, Ravens and 49ers, according to Pro Football Focus' Michael Renner.

"Buckner is the prototype for what the 3-4 defensive end once was and Oregon is one school that still utilizes players in that role heavily. Ideally he goes to a 3-4 team still, but with his immense physical skills I wouldn't think twice about handing in my card with his name on it if I'm a 4-3 team in need of an interior force," Renner explained. Buckner led all FBS interior players in snaps. He even played over 100 snaps in two games this year, an incredible feat of stamina.

Agreed about the depth of DL prospects in this draft maybe makes me lean towards Jack. But I'll be thrilled with either

If we could grab Jack and Butler or Jones in the 2nd it would be huge for our defense.
I think this is more likely to happen now.... And with the #7 pick in the 2016 NFL draft the 49ers select DeForest Buckner
