The thing that makes optimistic about Buckner is that as a RDE in the Ducks 34 defense, he was matched up with some stud OL this year Garnett, Conklin, Seumalo, etc. and performed well each week. A lot of the 2016 draftees were matched up against guys who will never sniff the NFL. That was not the case with Buckner.

Im in the camp that Hopes Buckner is a 49er at all costs. I dont care if Goff or Wentz were both available, I would take Buckner.

About the only guy i would consider drafting before Buckner would be Myles Jack.

Now that Williams has failed his physical, more reasons that ever to get Buckner. Drafting another NT isn't the answer...because they can slide Dial inside and Purcell can back him up. A front 3 of Armstead - Dial - Buckner has an opportunity to be really good.

Buckner will be the player Big Daddy Wilkerson was ... if we (49ers) want him, fine, but please, not with the 7th overall pick..

really can't lose (unless one busts, that's always a possibility). the losing scenario is getting enamored with one and losing picks which dramatically increases the pain in the event one busts.

He's my choice at #7 over Wentz (believe Goff going #2), even have him over Jack.

IMO He is worthy of #1 overall. What flaws do you see that put him out of the top ten players in the draft for you?

We could do a lot worse than Buckner at #7 overall.

Well, Big Daddy was Cincy's #1 overall pick as well..and if that's the case, how come Buckner has not made any kinda noixe being a possible 1st overall pick.. the guy's size and athletecism is very imposing, no doubt, but he's motor doesn't run that much..

I'm just saying, he's a 1st rounder, but NOT a top flight DL IMO... for some reason, there are times that his engine just shots off, that's the one thing that I'm concern about the most..

Best DL in the draft and it's not even close. Have you seen his numbers?
