I'd be cool with two 6-7 290 Lbs athletic freaks up front

What are your thoughts on Dial? How do you think he's been playing?

It will be SAD to watch these 2 guys (Twin Tower) along w/Dial to get pushed around every Sunday.. both are "baby huey" type of players in my opinion..

I really hope he does. I'd love to sign a RT and either Boone or another guard, then draft a guy like Nick Martin to play center. I hope to see 3 new lineman next year.

Well if Kilgore get back to full health I'm good with him at center (I like Martin too).I'll take Davis back with open arms and from the sounds it he will be coming back.

you clearly haven't watch him play this year...dude is anything but a "baby huey" or whatever lol. He's one of the top 3-4 DEs in college.... and if there's one thing that AA isn't doing this year it's getting pushed around he's already commanding double-teams on a regular basis.

Please don't tell me you think a DE in our 3-4 defense is supposed to rack up a ton of sacks but there not.

I just dont see the logic of drafting a DE with no pass rushing ability to rack up sacks..

Have you not been watching the last 5 Super Bowls??

The Giants PASS RUSHERS was the difference against the Patriots.

The Seahawks RUSH got Manning out of his usual great rythm..

and your gonna tell me that we would be fine with 2 DEs who are commanding double teams but yet, can not get to the QB???

with no pass rushers, you best pray that you have two Deion Neon Prime Time Sanders as your CB, and Ronnie Lott teaming with Rod Woodson at the Safety position..

Makes sense for a 4-3 team. However the 49ers don't run a 4-3. I would even argue that Buckner excels at getting after the QB. 9.5 sacks is impressive for his position.

What they need is for someone to step up across from Aaron Lynch

Unfortunately this draft is pretty weak imo in 3-4 OLB pass rushers. Leonard Floyd and Shaq Lawson are the only 2 I'm even interested in.

There are some intriguing guys in Carl Lawson, Ngakoue, Nassib, and Jimmy Bean. Problem is most of those guys are probably better suited to play DE. A lot will depend on their agility drills and ability to drop into coverage. I kind of want them to go after Hali and wait a year to get an OLB

3-4 DEs don't rack up sacks they just don't man. The Giants ran a 4-3 defense dude not a 3-4.

you get two DEs that command double teams it free's up Lynch and Eli with one-on-ones which is a HUGE advantage. That's what Justin Smith and Rmac did for A Smith and Brooks.

Look at Justin Smith his best season with us and his DPOY run he had 8 sacks...is he sub-par? Buckner also has like 9.5 sacks this season which is ridiculous for a 3-4 DE.

Like both those guys but I'd like a little more beef though. Ogbah is a player to watch he has 26.5 sacks in 3 years (two as a starter) and 35.5 TFL (we talked about him in his thread).

He reminds me of Aldon Smith coming out of college, DE with long arms and a motor. He's about the same size as aldon coming our of college as well. He isn't a finished product which might be good if you want to make him a OLB.

trade down for this kid a grab a extra 2nd. With that 2nd get Wentz and grab some OL help BOOM! rest of the draft is gravy lol.

I think that Ogbah and Bosa could play as OLB in our defense.

agreed...Bosa is a stud but won't be there when we are picking. Ogbah has the size, length, and speed to be a force at OLB.
Im very much aware that both the Giants and Seattle are under the 4-3 scheme.. but my point is, we picked AA last year with the 15th overall, and now, you are telling me to draft Buckner between the 7the and 12th pick???

If we gonna draft that high, just like last year, we may as well find those PASS RUSHING DEs instead of those "CLOGGERS"..

While it seems redundant, you have to factor that the team lost Smith AND McDonald in one offseason, and while Dial is a great rotational guy, he shouldn't be starting. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get another high potential player to make the d-line elite. Honestly if they sign a guy in FA I'd be all over getting Ogbah to help the pass rush

Actually traded down for 17th pick with bell and a 5th this year

If your aware that they run a 4-3 then why bring it up? You know that's were those teams get there pass rush from the DE where's we get it from the OLB.

AA has been tops among rookie DE is pass rush and is doing well overall in th league. And like I said Buckner has 9.5 sacks which is very good among 3-4 DEs.

Justin smith had 8 sacks at his peak with us was he a bad player??

Totally agree! Look at what Baalke likes long big pass rushers and that's what Buckner and ogbah are...two 6-7 290 DE (dial is 6-6 as well) with Williams as the NT and that line is upgraded for years!

That makes our OLBs jobs much much easier (and the secondary) it all starts in the trenches.
