I think Baalke can find Chip's prototype guards in the mid rounds. Buck at #7 would be a safe pick, IMO. Ronnie Stanley's stock is rising and may murk things up at #7.

Buckner at 7 Joshua Garnett at 37 build those lines!

I wouldn't be mad if that's how the first two picks went down. Throw in Dak in the 3rd and the WZ would collectively cream.

Mmmmm

If an Armstead falls in DeForest, does the QB hear it? Does it makes a sound?

I would be happy to have Buckner but I do feel that he's being a bit over hyped because of his size/Arms/Hands alone.

Would Rather have Bosa fills a greater need at a position that is weak in this yrs draft unlike DL

You do know Bosa is a DL and a 4-3 DL at that.

I do, so was Aldon, I believe he can become a 3/4 OLB and an OLB is a greater need. In a lack luster draft of OLBs this yr Ill take Bosa 1st and look for DL later the draft that's loaded with them.

Draft Buckner, then move up into the late 1st to get Ogbah or Spence, then sign Norman and our defense goes from meh to flippin naaasty.
Conklin is a beast, #65 LG Allen is a beast too

Buckner couldn't do s**t

One of the reasons why I think Conklin would be a great choice. He shut both Buckner and Bosa down.

Everyone gets beat from time to time. Buckner wrecked a lot of OL, so did Bosa. Conklin is a tough matchup for any top pass rusher.

yeah everyone gets beat, but now he's going to be going against high caliber OL, not college UDFA

Allen is going to be the best OG next year, hopefully we can pick that guy up next year

Allen who......Jack Allen the C that is like a 4th or 5th rounder in this draft, not so much.

Buckner struggled with Conklin but did well against guys like Josh Garnett of Stanford who most definitely is high caliber OL.
A few things that Sport Science points out:

Buckner's wingspan is almost four and a half inches longer than his height.

His hands are almost a foot wide, which is bigger than a football.

He produces nearly half a ton of force when blocking the sled in the example.

Brain Allen that plays right next to Conklin, both took turns handling Buckner all game. And when Buck was doubled teamed by them two..buckner didn't even try

You would hope that they get OL taken care of this year so that they don't need to draft any more OL early next year. Plenty of depth and talent at guard and center especially.
