DeForest Buckner DL - Oregon

Here is what they need to do, trade what ever you got after the 4th round and maybe something from next year to get 2 more 2nd round picks. You grab up the best player available in the first (Buckner). Then take a beast of a running back in Derrick Henrey at 6'3" 250 followed by Joshua Garnett and Jason Spriggs to finish out that zone scheme with a line and a couple of backs to beat up and change pace with the best of them. 3rd round take Joe Haeg for depth and future on the line, and Scoobie Wright in the fourth to fill out that front seven. That is a draft that would be a foundation and give us an identity that could scare people. Solid

We need a pass rusher, to give our pass rush a boost.

With Dial, Purcell and TJE playing so many snaps we had no push on the line. Armstead and Buckner would be a drastic upgrade to help Lynch and Eli get a push upfield.

I think Dadi Nicolas or Robertson-Harris will also be brought in to replace Lemonier and add depth behind Brooks.

Who says Lemonier will be replaced? The dude's 24 and dirt cheap. And this is a contract year for him. There's absolutely zero reason to cut him.

So that leaves the Cowboys, Jags, Ravens and 49ers.

On there board there will be:

1. Jack
2. Bosa
3. Buckner
4. Ramsey or Tunsil

Nobody's doing any trades because they don't need to. The price is too steep. I don't understand the logic here...

I agree on SD. Tunsil seems logical but the media and fanbase here in SD love Ramsey. Mcshay also said he hears a lot about ramsey from SD.

I only see another team moving up for a guy like elliot. If some team views him that high and is worried dallas wants him.

Buckner has major buzz in SD. I live here, and he is mentioned on 1360 every single time the draft is discussed.

Didn't say we'd cut him, but it's obvious Lemonier and Brooks are unlikely to stay beyond next year.

I've personally seen enough from Lemonier. Not saying he'll be cut, but wouldn't be surprised if he was. This year he's off scholarship. We're sure to draft a pass rusher, and we're getting crowded on the edge.

Lynch
Brooks
Harold
Carradine
Lemonier

Lemonier is on the bubble imo.
I'm starting to think the only way we get Buckner at 7 is if Tunsil slides to the Ravens at 6. If Tunsil is off the board and Buckner is there, I'd be shocked to see the Ravens pass on him.

Chargers and Ravens are the 2 teams ahead of Niners that would take Buckner, Jaguars are only team ahead of Niners I believe would take Jack.
Think there's a higher chance of Jack making it to #7 than Buckner

Exactly how I see it too. Draft would have to play out something like this for Buckner to reach us:

1 Rams - Jared Goff
2 Eagles - Carson Wentz
3 Chargers - Jalen Ramsey
4 Cowboys - Joey Bosa
5 Jaguars - Myles Jack
6 Ravens - Laremy Tunsil
7 49ers - DeForest Buckner

Sounds like the Drunkenmiller draft, where they traded up all their picks for 3 draft picks and neither had a stellar career.

Bosa has to be selected before us for us to get a premium player for our defense at 7.

There's an outside chance a team in love with Elliot could trade up & nab him in the top 6 as well. In fact, I wouldn't be completely shocked if the Niners drafted him at 7.

The Druckenmiller draft was classic idiocy. Trading up wasn't the issue it was who they passed on and drafted when they did it. It doesn't matter who's at qb, if the line sucks so does he. We would still have later round compensatory pucks that can't be traded but a team built out of a bunch of sixth rounders just ain't gonna cut it.

That's how I have the Buckner to Niners scenario playing out. If The Cowboys were to take Jack instead of Bosa, we end up with Stanley.
