We are keeping Dial. Kellys Offense puts a lot of pressure on our Defense. We will need plenty of good fresh bodies especially on the Dline.

I know he had 12 sacks last year, but the way he got those sacks doesn't translate to the NFL. I haven't seen a single scouting report claim that he is an elite pass rusher. We took the two best players off a terrible defense in back to back years...

meh, buckner is better than armstead and dial is on his way out
How is Dial on his way out? We just gave him an extension...I have no idea why we didn't do the trade Cleveland did with Tennessee. No elite prospect on the board, trade back and accumulate picks.
2nd highest player on their board hoe do you not take him...build through the trenches.

just watch, he isn't the unbelievable player everyone thinks he is
Maybe but there's no question he was the top 3 player in the draft and we got him at 7. Now it's up to him and coaching staff to get the most out of him.
I think he's going to be an amazing DE. Watched several Ducks game and thought he was several times better than Armstead. This is a great pick for our defense imho. I can't stand Baalke but he finally got something right.

It literally doesn't...he is not going to be able to manhandle NFL guards like that. His only pass rush move is a bullrush...

I just watched a video of Michigan St vs Oregon where Buckner swam through a guard and a back to get to Cook. He was doubled teamed every play in that game.

I disagree. Many others too. You may be right. You may be wrong. Your record doesn't convinced me you have this pick nailed down.

DE's are not the pass rushers in our 3-4 defense. Buckner will now be the reason our pass rushers actually get to the QB like Justin Smith did for Aldon Smith. Everything starts up front! He or Armstead will need to be double teamed or they can cause problems.
Quintin Dial/Ian Williams/Dorsey at NT will make things even harder for O-lines and easier for our pass rushing LBer's. I don't ever really agree with Baalke, but this was a great pick!

I know 3-4 ends are not meant to be the sack guys, which is why I am very against taking them in the 1st round, let alone the top 10 unless they are elite players (which I obviously don't think Buckner is). You can get a great player to fill that role, especially in this draft, in rounds 2-3.
