That corner route with his back to his own goal line was a biiiiig time NFL throw.

The kid is ready to play year 1 and he was calling his protection all game long was very impressed

lol seriously. There is literally nothing else he can do. He has won in every situation. And, moreover, he is the reason they win.

Lol did u watch the game ?

did you?

Watson made some nice throws, he played within the offense, but he can make every NFL throw..the back shoulders with accuracy, the passes to Leggett, even to Renfroe abd Williams, the kid put the ball where his wrs can make plays without getting intercepted..give him his credit he made 2 game winning drives basically..

These are the same people that claim a QB throwing 90% of his passes dropping back off balance and off his back foot with a crooked release is a pure NFL throw because it can travel 40 yards down field even though it's incomplete.

When the announcers stated that Watson is sharp, he is like a coach on the field and has a grasp of the whole play book, I thought, done for the Niners to draft him at spot number 2. He is a proven winner and the Clemson coach stated he is the face of the team.

I am sold

I'm with you on this!!! Sitting at number 2 is looking better after today

I wouldnt take Watson with the 2nd pick but I would gladly take him in the first if we traded down. Anyone who thinks he isnt a 1st rd pick is just wrong. He has cemented that tonight.

Agreed. But I think he might be worth reaching on with the 2nd pick. If we dont someone else will

Terrible value at 2.

You sure?

Yes.

The issues with Watson will still be there on draft day. Limited playbook, half field reads, and floats some balls. His mental capacity at the NFL level will be the major question. Is he ready to start his rookie year...because that's the expectation for a top 5 pick.

He's a great college QB, at the NFL level that means nothing on Sundays. He needs a year or two to be ready. That doesn't scream 2nd pick to evaluators.

I disagree regarding a top 5 pick being expected to start his rookie season. Look at Goff lol

Goff ended up starting this year. Watson needs a full year or two...not 10 weeks.

I like him but you're looking at somebody running a simple scheme. He's going to be asked to do something he's never done and that will be a hit on his stock.

You're basing all this off this win. Regardless of winning or losing the issues are still there tomorrow. Can we invest the 2 for a 1-2 year wait?

Imo you sit him behind Kap for one year he'll be ready in 2018

Kap is gone so that's not happening. And the pressure would be insane to start him. We had a Goff bust thread because he was sitting. You draft a QB at 2, you can't sit him. I don't think he's ready.

Watson IMO should be a top 15 pick. 2 is too rich for him. I like him but at 2 it's not smart value wise.

If he was white and slow these haters would love him.
420 yards, 3 td's, 0 int, on 64% completion against the best defense in the country. Meanwhile Trubisky throws 2 questionable interceptions against Stanford in his bowl game

He shredded a historically dominant defense. Thats damn impressive no matter what scheme he runs.

Yeah but Hunter Renfrow is the one who shredded Bama today, he's a walk on. Though I agree that his talent is better, I will up your take and say he did it against the best defense in CFB history according to most "experts." I do not believe in one way shape or form mitch could do it.

The reality is that we'll never know. I watched Trubisky lead some huge comebacks and be clutch down the stretch like in the Pitt game but he also never had the benefit of being able to chuck it up into a crowd and have Mike Williams come down with it.

All I know for certain is that Trubisky had a very good season, Watson struggled early on but finished off fantastically and regardless of the order, they will be 2 of the first 3 QB's drafted.
Oh yeah man I agree their one and two. And he did lead some good comebacks and that the person to take advantage of a Watson skill set may have left via firing. But in all reality the sample size of Tribisky is a complete red flag and but picking 2nd overall you have to pull a Carolina Panthers and go with the hot talent like they did with Cam if he's available.

Me personally I would go Garrett if available but if Tribisky is the pick I will remain skeptical. I'm going off sample size and Stanford defense < Alabama defense and Watson killed bamas defense 2 straight years and tribisky struggled vs stanford. To me the true safer pick is Watson.
One thing about Watson is he definitely plays well in big games and late in games. His intangibles are off the charts.

It doesn't make him Andrew Luck though. He still sails a lot of his passes and got bailed out on a bunch of plays tonight. Curious to see how he does in the offseason stuff leading up to the draft.

Love the intangibles but he still makes me nervous....maybe thoughts like that is why Dak Prescott fell as far as he did but he could be another Tebow. All intangibles but doesn't translate to the NFL.

You just defined the Kizer fans. Coincidentally, the same people who fell in love with the strength of Ryan Leaf
So we gonna take him at #2 now? Lol
