An MVP in every sense.

Deshauns score should emphasize how much of a joke PFF is.

If you draft Watson nobody should expect to see him for 2 years. If that's the plan trade down a little so we can get something while we wait.

I don't know about all of that. He seems like a pretty sharp guy with a great work ethic. I think he should be ready to go by the end of his rookie season. Inevitably I think some team will throw him out there from Day 1 and I think that will be a mistake.

Clemson will have a lot of players drafted, for sure. Love their TE Leggett and of course Mike Williams. He got his bell rung pretty good, but shook it off and made a bunch of plays.

That dude is clutch. He made it happen. Clemson is not like Bama, they don't really have a run game. Basically, everything was on Watson's shoulders. Being able to throw for 420 yards on that Bama's defense is just ridiculous!

If Watson does well tonight is he a lock for the first QB drafted?

nope

Is he the top QB in this draft now?

no. he's a great college QB for sure no doubt about it. . . as a pro prospect tho he does have some questions like decision making, Staring down recievers just doesn't work in the pros. also he doesn't seem to go through progressions as quickly as you would like.. he did have a great game but you have to look at entire bodies of work not just a few games where he played out of his mind.. this doesn't mean that he can't get to a point to be a legit option in the NFL It just means he's not there at this time.
Folks, not saying he will be our draft pick at #2, but there just aren't many options at QB for the 49ers. Roll with Kap one more, but draft his replacement, trade for Jimmy G, or draft one high. Please don't give a stop gap like freaking Brian Hoyer. Rather start the rookie.

Curious... what today showed you he is not ready to start day 1?

In the NFL you're not going to be running a half field offense in most cases. He, Trubisky, Kizer, all these guys ideally should have the time to develop and get up to speed. Watson being experienced in college doesn't necessarily mean he is ready to start in the NFL considering the offense he is coming out of.

Though I do understand what you're saying with the play book and all, this is 2011 all over again. Cam coming out versus Von Miller; I know Tribisky is the better prospect coming out but I equate his role as the wild card to Gabbert's in that draft where the "experts" were saying he's the most ready.
LMFAO.

As far as Watson goes. He is just a freaking WINNER. That's gotta count for something. Especially against LEGIT Defense like Alabama. Early on, I thought it was going to be ugly but Watson did what he had to...that is lead his team to victory.

But they were NFL ready INT's.

This Turbisky love is mindboggling.

Got me agreeing with Rascal. It was clear in the 2nd quarter that Watson was going to need to put on his cape to win this game. And, he did. That means something.
Knowing either Garrett or Watson is ours is a good feeling. I think Watson is really good. Winner attitude.

We won't have a team ready for him after 1 year. Until we have something reliable at WR and TE no sense in making him a sacrificial lamb.
The kid has the IT factor.

The bottomline is this, sitting at #2, the 49ers will have their choice of some highly talented player, whether a QB, OLB, WR or some other position, they'll have a chance to take a difference-maker.
