I just worry about the pure arm talent.
I see blake bortles arm talent, but somewhat less.
Does that put him at the top of the draft? Naw

As far as Watson goes. He is just a freaking WINNER. That's gotta count for something. Especially against LEGIT Defense like Alabama. Early on, I thought it was going to be ugly but Watson did what he had to...that is lead his team to victory.

But they were NFL ready INT's.
This Turbisky love is mindboggling.
Tim Tebow was also a winner
You still think he should go no higher than the 3rd round?

I think he'd be worth a late 1st/early 2nd pick if they get an HC who's into the short passing game.
It may take some time for him to adjust to pro offenses and throws.

In the NFL you're not going to be running a half field offense in most cases. He, Trubisky, Kizer, all these guys ideally should have the time to develop and get up to speed. Watson being experienced in college doesn't necessarily mean he is ready to start in the NFL considering the offense he is coming out of.
Though I do understand what you're saying with the play book and all, this is 2011 all over again. Cam coming out versus Von Miller; I know Tribisky is the better prospect coming out but I equate his role as the wild card to Gabbert's in that draft where the "experts" were saying he's the most ready.
Browns are in an interesting situation. They can take Garrett #1, and still have a shot at one 1 of these 3 quarterbacks. Now if they covet one of them more than the other 2, they will most likely have to draft that QB #1.
I agree with Phoenix that these QBs need time, but I feel that way about pretty much all rookie QBs. Unfortunately that's not the league we have anymore.
I dont think that will happen for the Browns unless Kizer falls. The Niners and Bears will certainly take Watson and Mitch at 2 and 3 and the Jets would likely grab Kizer at 6. You are right though. Interesting situation for them.
Maybe not, but we'love see. One thing I do not believe will happen is the Jets taken a QB at 6. Hackenberg may be awful, but he was a freaking 2nd round pick. Man the JETS are screwed.

Welp. Unless he gets caught on video snorting a line of coke... he'll be taken in the early 1st.

You mean like McDaniels?
One thing I absolutely love about Watson is how fast his release is. He's got that compact, quick release where the ball just flies out of his hands, on shorter throws it is absolutely lethal at times as defenders just have no time to react.

Clemson will have a lot of players drafted, for sure. Love their TE Leggett and of course Mike Williams. He got his bell rung pretty good, but shook it off and made a bunch of plays.
That dude is clutch. He made it happen. Clemson is not like Bama, they don't really have a run game. Basically, everything was on Watson's shoulders. Being able to throw for 420 yards on that Bama's defense is just ridiculous!
Got me agreeing with Rascal. It was clear in the 2nd quarter that Watson was going to need to put on his cape to win this game. And, he did. That means something.
Yep. I am not saying the guy is the best QB of all time, but the dude is a leader and a winner plus he doesn't panic. It absolutely has to mean something.

No to Watson. He is small jointed like RGIII. like a WR. NFL QBs, the lasting ones, have thick joints.

I don't think many would argue against taking Garrett if he was there. But Watson/Trubisky is a complete toss up. We're in a great, great position.

Deshawn Watson =Vince Young
Can you name one thing Dak Prescott did in college that Watson hasn't already done better and/or against better competition?
I don't want Watson at #2 but I recognize he has a lot of talent and is one hell of a player and a winner. You do make an excellent point and that's why if he is selected at #2 I won't have any issue with it. Dak could be the exception to the rule but it's still a valid point. There is definitely room for his skill set in the NFL.

He has touch and can easily throw a fade

Watson's best attribute is his ability to stay calm under pressure, even when Mike Williams was out/hurt he was still dropping dimes to his other receivers...aka throwing them open. Something I haven't seen from a SF QB in years...

THIS. Well.. also the possible opportunity to trade for Jimmy G and then use our 2nd to move down and get extra picks (maybe get Mike Williams)
