There are no QBs worthy of a top 2 pick in this draft. I refuse to be a prisoner of the moment with Watson. I would be more inclined to trade a pick for Jimmy G or Bridgewater.

Liking Watson doesn't make you a "prisoner of the moment". The dude has been rolling top competition in big games since the day he set foot on campus. This isn't a one-time event.

I would be excited with Watson at 2 or Turbisky or Kizer or getting Garoppolo. Maybe even Falk or Mahomes if we can land Garrett too...
My point is, a QB savior is not on this team, and no one knows if any of the guys above will be 'that guy', but we do have to take a chance.

Bridgewater is more like Mitch with actual experience than that of Watson.

Watson should be the 1st QB off the board at this point.
GM's will think about Dak as they think about passing on Watson.

Has he even declared yet?

Lets be real, picking a qb second with the OLD nfl salary pool would be suicide. With the NEW salary pool the second pick will sign for 17 million guaranteed with a 27 million dollar contract or roughly 7 million a season. That is chump change for a potential franchise qb.
Or one could trade for Jimmy Garropolo, whos contract is due quickly and he will command 16 to 17 million a year with 37 million guaranteed, (see brock osweiller)
I vote for drafting a qb, unless Garropolo can be had for our second round pick (which I doubt)

Garapollo is going to cost a lot more than that. Expect to see at least $18-20 million per year. Osweiler got $18 a year and the cap continues to rise. Osweiler didn't even play well in Denver before signing that deal. Teams throw money at anyone they think has a chance at being an NFL starting QB.

He's definitely a winner. And he's a good college qb. Except for all the picks.
He's got a lot of work ahead of him before he'd be able to become a servicable NFL qb. He'd be a nice second-day long-term project, but someone will blow an early pick on him. It better not be us.

True, and I like Teddy, but I just think the kid has a more higher ceiling (imo). Plus, if we're starting from scratch, might as well just keep Kap (over Bridgewater) while working the kid in

I think Watson end up in the #20-35 range. If he doesn't show we'll in he off-season, he could be in the late 2nd, early 3rd area.
If I had to guess today I'd say he's a guy that falls and teams will be looking to trade back into the 1st for. Similar to what we saw with Paxton Lynch, Dalton, Carr...
