Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson - Legit alternative to Jared Goff in 2017?

Once you graduate you can go to the senior bowl regardless of how many yrs you've been at school...yeah I read a report saying they are high on him but not at 1.

once i saw that report, i wanted to start jumping up and down. Not getting my hopes up too much yet but it is definitely a good sign that the Browns are very interested in Watson at #1. Getting Myles Garrett will make our offseason a instant success

I would imagine they're interested in him at trading up from #12 overall. Not #1 overall.

damn i didnt think of that. Well if they really like him, i dont think they would risk letting him fall into our laps or bears or the jets.

Daniel Jeremiah's mock draft that he released today has Watson going #1 and Garrett falling to us.

I hope you're right, Garrett would look good in a Niner uniform.

His mock also doesn't account for trades.

The best shot we have at Myles Garrett is for a QB needy team to trade up with the Browns to take their top choice. Expecting the Browns to stay in that spot and NOT take Garrett is setting up unrealistic expectations.
I hope the browns pick this guy

Sounds like he doesn't want to play for the Browns. The word has it he turned down the Browns to play in the Senior Bowl. Who knows, he might even do an Eli Manning if they take him at No.1 overall.

Trubisky is on record saying that the Browns is his favorite team and wants to play for them. Nothing wrong with that, he grew up in the area. Plus if that gets us Garrett......

I think if the Browns have been thinking about Watson, their thinking must be to take Garrett at 1 and Watson at 12. I wonder how may that affect them now if Watson seems to be saying he doesn't want to play for the Browns.

You're reading into it too much IMO. He wouldn't be the first elite player to turn down an invite. He just wants to leave the last impression of him on a positive note. Senior bowl is for guy's on the cusp and guy's that played crappy competition, not really consensus Top 10(ish) guys. It's better if he polishes up his mechanics and white board knowledge before answering to team's.
