Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson - Legit alternative to Jared Goff in 2017?

Draft him.

Wow... first of all, he's far more intelligent than Vince..

2ndly, Vince never hat that IT in him..

and 3rd, Vince never learned how to throw the football..

Not looking to defend Vince Young, who I never liked as a pro. But just to be clear....

"IT factor" was his whole thing. After he went nuts and beat USC in the national title game all people could talk about was his "IT factor"

His brains and mechanics were huge red flags, but "IT factor" is what got him drafted that high.

This.

All Vince had was "IT" factor
I think if Garrett is gone it's Watson or trade back..obviously I'm not so high on Trubisky like a lot but if Trubisky is the pick I hope I'm wrong as ever..
NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah polled five NFL executives on Clemson QB Deshaun Watson's best fit in the NFL, and two said the 49ers.

"Kyle is innovative within his scheme and he would build the offense around Watson's skill set," one executive said. "More importantly, Kyle's offense is predicated on the run, which won't put too much pressure on a young QB." The overriding point here is that Watson's coach will need to tailor a system around the quarterback. That is called good coaching, and Kyle Shananan is considered a good coach. Too often coaches want to stick with their own systems.

Watson confirmed today that he will throw at the combine. Says he weighs 218 at the moment and hopes to run at 4.5.

I like it
Matt Miller ✔ @nfldraftscout
Deshaun Watson told me the plan is to throw at the Combine and run the 40. He's hoping to get in the 4.5 range. Weighs 218 now.

Its a mistake for him to throw. He should throw on his pro-day instead with his receivers. This usually ends up hurting a QBs stock more times than not.

That's confidence in his ability. I wonder if Mitch and Kizer will throw at the combine or hide until their pro days.

Or its his inability to realize his confidence can only hurt him. No need to throw at the combine. Its actually common practice for the top candidates not to throw. Im glad he is throwing because I want nothing to do with that guy on my Niners. I hope he bombs terribly. He is doing me a personal favor in this instance.
If its between Watson and Mitch, you can count me on the Watson train.

Mitch's 1 year experience is going to kill him. He's not ready, and people are propping him up just like Gabbert.

And I hope he crushes it...even though I'd prefer D with our top picks.
