Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson - Legit alternative to Jared Goff in 2017?

Hopefully if he did come here he wouldn't have to worry about that...Chip's system of getting the ball out quick helps with PP.

Still need players to get open quickly to get the ball out quick and I don't think we have players who can do that right now. We have Torrey Smith and no one else at WR and our TE's aren't anything to write home about. Our offensive line was bad, but our offensive struggles last year were a total team effort (QB may have been our best positional group on offense last year with Hyde out).

Guys like Riley Cooper managed to be productive in that offense. The key is being able to run routes with precision, the scheme helps a lot with getting guys open but you need a QB who can quickly identify where the football needs to go.

Or would you rather we get a young vet who's been trained by the guru, (sorry slightly off topic)
Im predicting pick is traded for Garoppolo

I think as long as our QB isn't a statue and can escape and move a bit, it could work.

Only a Patriots fan could think a late 2nd round pick with limited starting experience and one year left on his contract could possibly be worth a first round pick let alone the top 10 pick the 49ers are likely to have.

I don't want Garapollo at all, but I also doubt it would cost more than a 3rd round pick for him if we were to trade for him next offseason. Even that is a steep price to pay for a potential one year rental who hasn't proven anything yet.
im so on board with getting him he would fit kelly system well

i know a lot of people want pass rusher but i think we need a qb pretty badly we are from from a person away from winning but a franchise qb will attract FA

Garapollo may be worth a 2nd rounder if he plays well. He was a solid prospect when he was drafted and if he can pick up the Pats offense and play well within that offense you know he can play in the NFL. Hell some team without a legit starter and a bottom first rounder may trade one for him.

If we can get him for a 3rd or later then we should do it. I'd rather take a chance on a young kid who has learned from two of the best to ever do it and has shown the game isn't too fast/big for him than roll the dice on a college kid no hasn't taken a snap in the NFL with a top 10 pick.

hell no! no to Matt Cassel 2.0 the offense would make Blaine look like a pro bowler lol. Time for Chip to get the QB he needs Watson is that guy. He can run chip's whole offense Jimmy G can't.

You watch that Alabama game? Almost produced 500 yards of offense against a top D. He's very accurate and made tons of NFL caliber throws all year. Strong arm but has touch.

No character concerns that I know of....durable is a issue but I heard his already up to 220 lbs.

Will be exciting to see all this QB prospects this fall

i think he has solid touch nothing to brag about but its decent

hes accurate but could improve his mechanics a bit tog et better ball placement i think biggest problem with him is he needs to get a bit stronger

and it was reported he showed up to their camp bigger. Kid's only 20, there's a lot to like IMO. He could work on his long ball accuracy but 68% comp percentage isn't anything to sneeze at.
